- Thanks to Mike Noland for help with this story...

Hacksaw Jim Duggan had to cancel an appearance with East Coast Pro Wrestling on April 2nd due to a contractual obligation with the WWE.

It's no secret that The WWE Hall of Fame Ceremony is the night before Wrestlemania 21, which would be Saturday April 2nd.

Putting two and two together, its fair to speculate that Duggan could be the next inductee into the Hall of Fame. However, this is not confirmed, so take it as a strong rumor at this point.

ECPW has posted some info, which can be read here.

He's still "active." So he can't go in till he retires.

I'd love to see Macho Man and Hogan. And then Savage can challenge Cena to a Rap-Off. Smell the ratings.

I met Hacksaw the other day....he wrestled for the indy fed that was over every once in a while because he owns part of it. He came down and of course won the heavyweight belt and disapeared for a long time. Then returned four months later and lost the belt.

Im happy to see that he will make it into the hall of fame hopefully because he was one of my favorite wrestlers growing up and meeting him was like a dream come true.

I met Hacksaw so this is awesome.

A lot of other guys should of maybe been ahead of him. Although I think he deserves it for sure.

To be honest, I'm not sure if it's a rule, but I'd assume that's why they don't have him in. Just going by what other sports use as criteria, and I'd expect that the WWE would adhere as part of the kayfabe.

yes, yes he was.

But then the evil Yoko crushed him and hacksaw was bleeding out of his mouth. I was really worried about him

Fact is, while Hacksaw worked for WWE he put in tons of time, got to basically all of his dates, and just about any worker will tell you - made WWE a great deal of money.

He was indeed a solid draw for pretty much the whole time he was with the company, and sold his fair share of seats and merchandise (when it was available). He was just a naturally popular guy, and still really is. Ran into him again at the Wrestle Reunion in January, and he got the crowd going there really big.

Not that it really counts (although it should, because they are inducting Mr. Solie) he was also way over in WCW, and did good for the promotion as well, playing along with everything they gave him. Should there be guys in ahead of Hacksaw? Definitely, but he has nothing to do with that decision making, so good for him :y:
