Wow, do they have a licence for real names etc?

In the last one they had most of the names, except the Dutch players (can never understand why the Dutch players never have their proper names) and some of the teams. They're easily alterable though and someone always figures out who's who after the release.

-edit- You can see examples above, Zambrotta, Pirlo, Joe Cole, Lucic

Number 3 in the first picture is Steve Nash.

Dutch players never have their real names due to them being apart of a different copyright argeement (or something along those lines). I didn't get PES4 but I might pick this one up.

Does anybody besides me wonder what the hell they're going to do with the title of the game 2 years down the road if they ever get to make "Winning Eleven 11?"

Sammy Eto'o, Victor Valdes, Ludovic Giuly

Looks about the same as PES4 though, i'll still get it though.

Looks from that like they can only get the licences for the Spanish and Italian teams again

van Persie had his proper name in PES4 though :$

I hope they can allow for more tricks etc to be performed, it was rumoured you could do Ronaldinho's flip-flap in PES4, that obviously never came to fruition. Also, give Thierry Henry a better goal celebration

The English league has the proper names as well. Except the bloody Dutch obviously

The thing aboot this one this time though is that it should be fully online compatible across all platforms. TPWW LEAGUE

Would people in the States be able to play against you Euro/Aussie folks? What system is this for, btw?

toxic rooster
07-07-2005, 11:40 AM
it'll be for all systems.

Won't I need some crazy online shit for my PS2? How do I go about getting one of those/can I in oz? I never really considered it before but now I have the time and money if one's available

It's online, Gonzo. I can't see how it would be any different than anything else online where anyone in the world can access it

You can get a PS2 online adapter for about £20 here, I dunno about anywhere else. I'd assume that it would be able to play people in the States against Europe or Asia or whatever but we don't know yet, it depends how Konami set up their servers (if anyone here has Pro Evo 4 for XBox maybe they could shed some light on the situation)

Just seen a video for this, I can pretty much say the following are in the game

More Fluid Gameplay - Volleys, Headers, General Movement, it all looks a lot smoother, rather than robotic

New Balls - I think you can see in the pictures that there are 2 new balls to choose

More Accurate International Kits - As you know, most of the kits are just the kit with the flag on, it seems the kits will have sponsors and proper badges

Different Shirts - There are 2 things about this. Club kits which are licensed will have the numbers in the proper way (like Juve and AC Milan) you can see what I mean in the pictures, you can also see that Saviola has an untucked shirt, which is a new option

Premiership Licensed Kits - At this point, I know for a fact that Chelsea and Arsenal have licensed kits, Liverpool and Man U may have, but they only showed the back of the kits

More Tricks - Ronaldinho seems to be able to do every trick he does (the one foot switch thing for example) I've seen some players doing flicks and turns as well

More Animations - Such as when you get a corner or make a sub etc....

2 New Stadiums - I've only read this, but I couldn't tell whether the video was showing these as it was written in Japanse. From what I do know, the Mestalla will be one of the new stadiums

Italy, Spain, Holland - All licensed again (club teams)

Improved Player Designs - Some of the players they showed were spot on (Robben, Ronaldo, Gerrard) even more so than on PE4

SNOW - You can play in snow, cool little animation where you can see the players breath

Stripes - The most annoying thing about the Strip creation on PE4 is no stripes..... you can get them on this.

All those things above were in-game footage, so I they are pretty much confirmed. As you know on Pro Evo they have an opening video when you start up the game, the video I saw was a combination of video and in-game. What is possible having seen the video part, is that some kind of Fifa Street style option MIGHT be in the game, I must stress, that is a might.

Pre-ordered it last week…

Hopefully they’ll have sorted the slowdown and shitty keepers.

Yeah, the keepers are real annoying in PES4 when they stand rooted for some shots.

Makes for some cracking free kicks though

It's a shame I can't order one using Jonster's site, being Australean and all. I suppose it would be mad just to order a copy now, forget about it then be like WOW when it rocks up on your doorstep in October

Wasn't as much of a lob as it was a very bad cross, off bar, post and in. Keeper rooted
