Where has KK been latly anyway?

Oh and to go to the main topic, my personal favorite choice for announcer would be Joey Styles, though a VERY close second would be Bobby Heenan.

Alright...to be serious...

As much as I hate him, Mike Teney actually makes the top 3 in my book.

Heenan is oh so close to number 1 but he's nothing compared to this man.

Gorilla Monsoon.

Why do you hate Tenay? He is easly in my top 5.

i liked JR once upon a time, kinda don't him all that much now.

Vince was an ok announcer
in regards to colour commentators, bobby heenan was awesome, i like Tazz too, and early on, jerry lawler was great (GOD HOW I HATED HIM BACK THEN!)

For shit like this,

"The Charasmatic Enigma is going up top"

"The Charasmatic Enigma seems to be hurt"

"The Charasmatic Enigma has passed gas"

See what I mean?

It's not Tenay fault that managment makes him call Monty Brown "Alpha Male", Hardy "Charismatic Enigma" and Jeff Jarrett "Sexiest man on the earth who not only has a 27 inch penis but is also the greatest wrestler to ever step foot in a ring and should someday rule the entire universe as the new God once our current one quits"

This should be separated into best play by play and best color commentator.

Best PBP: Before he went senile, JR was easily the best ever. If you don't believe me, watch the Ric Flair DVD and listen to him work. The slop we hear now is the result of the WWE not grooming a replacement 5 years ago.

Best Color: Heenan. Jesse the Body and Paul Heyman deserve honorable mention.

Top 10

1. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan
2. Tony Shivone
3. Jim Ross
4. Gorilla Monsoon
5. Joey Styles
6. Jerry Lawler
7. Paul Heyman
8. Mike Tenay
9. Tazz
10. Vince McMachon

But my favorite team ever was Heenan Shavonie and Tenay, they were amazing... They made nonsense crap build up matches seem amazing.

I was watching an old WCW PPV the other night and at the beginning of a match between Yellow Dog (Brian Pillman) and Johnny B Badd, Jim Ross called Yellow Dog "Flyin Brian" then there was a long pause and he was all like "Well Yellow Dog certainly resembles Flyin Brian, both men have a similar style." LOL

I don't know about who's the best announcer and color guy but I really like the team of Jim Ross and Jesse Ventura in the early-90s in WCW. I'd like to see Tazz and Lawler switch places. Not that Tazz has been a color commentator for years I think he and JR would make a great team.

The Brain and The Body were awesome.
I still like JR
If he can play a heel I think The Coach could work out.

JR: Did you just see that! BahGawd! He should get DQed for that! Did you see that!?!?!
Coach: Sorry JR, I was too busy not paying attention to YOU to see that.

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Mark Madden yet. The guy made Schiavone say the words "Best Looking Big Man on TV" every week...that's enough unintentional comedy for me.

Tenay is an awesome PBP guy. He knows everything.

Heenan on color though.

Ventura's anti-Hogan thing was classic also.

If I could create a super announcer, it would be a combination of Heenan's wit, Styles' passion, Tenay's smarts, Heyman's intensity, and Lawler's loveability.

No love for Tony Schiavone? Oh yeah I forgot eveyone hated him... We'll he's still my number two of all time. The gut was passionate, he knew his stuff and was a perfect lame straight guy for Heenan to kick ass from, but there is no sense in arguing it.

Schiavone: Ladies and gentlemen, this is the biggest and best night of our lives, tonight we have the biggest most anticipated match ever, it doesn't even matter what match I am talking about currently, becuase no matter what happens now, the next thing I see will be the biggest and best thing that I personally will have ever seen in my 20 years of broadcasting!

I still liked Schaivone as a play by play guy, the 'this is the greatest' stuff I found funny. Except for when he would scream in excitement, I could tolerate his voice. He, along with Tenay, and Heenan, could get me into just about any match on WCW TV. Monsoon was the best PBP hands down, though. He had the only voice you could never get tired of. Ross is just a string of catchphrases, and Lawler's act got old years ago.
