View Full Version : !Idea! Bad NFL predictions done here

Ok, I'm sure some of you have seen those NFL commercials that are played usually around the end of the NFL season, and it is like "6 months earleir" and they have a group of fans who are making terrible predictions about the just past NFL season, anyway some I remember from last year:
-"Ricky Williams has one thing on his mind this year; and that's winning football games."
-"NFC WEST? I like the 49ers."
-"Gannon to Rice, Gannon to Brown all season longgg."

Anyway the point of current thread is to make predictions you feel could be possible for the upcoming season, and at the end of the year I will bump this thread (if I remember, which I won't) and we can all have a good laugh at each other for being fucking stupid. Anyway this may be a silly or bad idea, but it's worth a shot. Here are some of my predictions. Also, I don't want any bitching, complaining, mocking ect. in this thread.

-David Carr will be the breakout player of the year
-The Rams will be the worst team in the NFC this year
-The Patriots are a mediocre team at best, and will be lucky to make a playoff spot.

Dunno, we'll see if this catches on.

The Lions will finally break through. I think the Vikings might (MIGHT) win a couple more games and win the North, but Detroit will be a wildcard threat. With a healthy receiving core and Kevin Jones playing consistently well, Detroit's offensive unit will be one of the best in the league. And as long as they don't have to play huge percentages of the game (as they have the past few years), the defense will also come close to playing to their potential.

Grossman is very overrated. He's like Charles Rogers; nobody knows what he's capable of because he can't stay healthy. I mean, he did well in that game against the Vikings when he got hurt, but I saw him play the week before (maybe against the Lions or Packers) and everything he threw was a softball, even from 5 yards, they floated like marshmallows. It was horrible. And rather inaccurate, as well.

As for the Oakland depth chart (http://nfl.com/teams/depthcharts/OAK), it does not inspire confidence. Oakland finished 30th in defense in 2004, and made no notable improvements during the offseason. The Raiders offensive line was shaky last season and will be presumed shaky until proven otherwise. Yes, Randy Moss has arrived, but even when he's in the mood to play, he has rarely done much on defense or on the offensive line. Here's a prediction that could make me look bad later: Oakland could be the worst team in the league.

Gregg Easterbrook

This guy perfectly explains my reasoning as to why Oakland will not finish beyond last place in the AFC West

Who knows which Kansas City we'll see this year. The good or the old
San Diego, I swear last season was luck. How can Brees be consistently bad, then just get good out of nowhere. They'll do good, though.

There is NO WAY Denver finishes last

I wouldn't say that the Chargers were a fluke or will choke this year, but I can't imagine them being as good this season. First, isn't Gates holding out or something? Then they just won't be able to sneak up on teams.

I think they are a very good, very powerful team. Brees isn't a fluke, Tomlinson is dominant, and then Keenan recieving, they have a very serviceable offense. Clearly a better team then Denver.

It's hard to say if Denver will finish last, but I will say that if they do it is misrepresented because of the conference setup. Really Kansas City, Denver, and Oakland are all toss ups.

Denver had nothing but bad breaks against them that game. Like, 2 of Jake's interceptions were tipped off of Denver recievers and happened to go in the direction of a Charger.

Denver SHOULD have won the division EASILY.

Starting with Griffin's fuck up against Jacksonville....
Then Denver fucking up against Atlanta....
Then the blocked potential game winning kick against Oakland...
And I don't know what the fuck happened against the Chiefs the second time.

But then again, that's pretty much they way Denver always is. They have more than enough potential to do it, they just can never...y'know....do it. :'(
