I saw the video of this song today. The guy has a girlfriend, he goes to war, and...he doesn't come back? It would be so much better if she ate a cheeseburger. Is that the whole concept of the video though?

He is the second guitarist for them when they are live. That was the first video he ever appeared in as an actual member.

no, Billie still plays guitar when they are live...The other guy is too add more depth to the live songs that they had on the album (effects, fills, etc)

Nirvana also had a guitarist with them at times (pat smear was his name I believe)

When I saw Green Day at Milton Keynes, Billie was running all over the stage like a headless chicken. He must have played less than 50% of the time.

Yeah, BJ's guitar is definitely cranked way the fuck down. He is not the lead guitarist when they play live.

So what is the concept of the army thing with the actual lyrics to the song?

And they actually went the route of the kinda cheese that teenage girls will enjoy. They like that sort of heartbreak bf/gf crap.

Queen Had Spike Edney and I think Mike Moran onstage.

The Who had Simon Townshend actually play guitars at one point.

It's not like having another guitarist instage is an indication of much.
