I'm not going to guess the "league awards" cause I have no idea.

Yeah, homer picked the Sox this time... although, I wouldn't be shocked to see either the Sox or Yanks miss the playoffs, relying on 39/40yr old guys as your "Ace/#1 pitcher" is a gamble.

Florida third, Arizona first, KC second, and Oakland in the World Series are kind of risky, but who knows maybe you will be the genius come next October. The A's could realistically get there, they once again have a big set of hot prospects, but I don't expect them to perform great until next year.

Depends if they stay healthy and some of the young guys live up to their potential.

They improved the bullpen, the starting rotation will be better with a healthy Halliday and a matured Bush and Towers.

Who knows with the offense. Wells and Hudson need to stay healthy. Rios will hopefully be better. Cat should start in left and send Johnson to the bench, which is where he should be. I have no idea what to expect from Hillenbrand, Zaun, Adams and Hinske.

Worse based on Hillenbrand + Koskie < Delgado.

Rocket, Pettitte, Oswalt...I couldn't name the othe two guys in their rotation if you paid me.

compare that to: Prior, Zambrano, Wood, Maddux, and whoever the 5 guy will be.

Ok, first off, I said "one of" meaning they will be one of the best staffs in baseball if healthy, if healthy the cubs will also be "one of".

If you can't name one of the keys to the Astros playoff run "Brandon Backe" then you shouldn't try and pretend you know what you're talking about.

That being said, Dave, I've learned a simple rule, when you pick a team and say they're going to win, it's usually a VERY safe bet they wont. I'm not sure if your a jinx, or just like to pray, maybe you take the long shot so the once out of 100times you're right you look like a genius since no one else picked them.

That being said, you just flushed the cubs season down the toilet. Good job!

Dave, just stop posting... your trying to compare the Astros starters to the Cubs, but then say you don't know their starters are and don't care.

That's fine, you don't have to know or care, but then you can't give an opinion on something you don't care/know about.

I actually like Supremes having the Cubs in third. Last year was the Cubs year to do it and they choked. They kept all of their stars and added Maddux and Derek Lee, and they got completely blown away by the Cards. I don't see them doing any better this year, and now they don't have the momentum or anything. I don't think that right now there is a distinguished #2 team in the NL Central, it could be the Cubs, Stros, Reds, or even the Brewers.

Speaking of good staffs...

Santana-Radke-Silva-Lohse-Mulholland-Mays/Nathan-Rincon-Romero-Balfour-Craine

Top staff in the AL last season, all coming back with Joe Mays and prospects, bow down.

BCWWF

My opinion on the Astros, last season it took a late miracle for them to make the playoffs. Once in the playoffs, anything can happen, so coming within one game of the World Series doesn't mean all that much. If they needed a giant burst of momentum to do it last year, I think that they lost too much in the offseason to be a legit contended this season.

Wood and Prior weren't healthy. Plus this year I think Nomar will have a great year, he's healthy and wants a big contract. If they stay healthy they will pretty good.

What's so funny? It's not my fault everyone likes to sell the Mets short.

The offensive has been explosive, getting a lot of hits and a lot of runs. Even the bench has been doing some good hitting. The starters have been throwing tremendously, and even Victor Zambrano has been looking decent. The infield has been consistent with the defense, and the outfield has had very few errors. Most importantly, everyone seems to be in great health outside of Mike Cameron. However, just like last year, the biggest concern is the bullpen.

Braden Looper is set at closer, but the bridge to get to him will consist of Mike DeJean, Manny Aybar, Roberto Hernandez, Mike Matthews, Dae-Sung Koo, and Felix Heredia. Not only is that 3 lefties, but it's not even the best 'pen they could create with the guys they had in ST, IMO.

To say that I'm not worried about the 'pen would be a complete lie, but I don't think they'll be as horrible as everyone thinks they will be. Everyone seems to enjoy ripping the 'pen apart, but I think they'll prove everyone wrong and do a decent enough job.

Bottom Line: The Mets can and will get it done. Can't wait for the season to start.

Brett Boone should be homering, then it wouldn't be SOO bad. Nobody is hitting, but as of this writing...Luis Rivas is batting 1.000 on the season  Also, Mauer is .500 with a SB, he is the only one amazing. Morneau is scaring me a bit though.

It is typical Radke to suck in the first inning and then tear it up, so no fear.

I wouldn't really say the Rangers are terrible. They do have the best infield in baseball.
Last year was a bit of a fluke, i mean Mark Teixiera isn't going to hit 25 homers again. And defensively they're not even the best in their division. Chavez/Crosby/Ellis/Hatteberg.

Yeah, you're wrong. That team is terrible. If there was a single decent team in that division they'd be playing out the string by July. As it is, they'll get between 70-75 wins, in third place, 10-15 games out.

Do you remember that one time when the Reds were beating the Cardinals like 9-2, and then came back to win it by a run in like one inning? That was all because of Danny Graves. He gave up like two home runs. He pitched a bunch really shitty games with the Reds, then he flicked off a fan or something because they said he sucked, so that gave the Reds a good reason to fire him.

Danny Graves still has good stuff. He will be wasted on the Mets though

WTF GAY ASS YANKEES. Sheffield was out at first, they called him safe, next batter Posada doubles and they tie it, then win it in extras.

Although, it was worth it to see A-Rod being gunned down at the plate by 20 feet, and trying to run over the catcher and falling flat on his face while the catcher just stood there.

My Bucs got beat. Buisiness as usual.

I actually like what the Mets are doing right now. They are building their team a lot smarter then the Yankees.

Anyway, did anybody see Joe Mauer trip tonight? I was at the game, he hit a sweet ball to the wall in center and I swear it would have been a possible in the parker, but as he rounded first he just fell on his face. I think he might have had a chance at getting to third after the fall, but anyway. The Twins have awful first inning pitching and Justin Morneau hasn't been hitting at all lately. Torii is the man though.

1. The fan supposedly threw a racial slur at him (His mother is Vietnamese).

2. He's good.

Lol, the poll on ESPN.com today is:

Who will win the AL East?
Baltimore
Boston
New York
Toronto

You've got to feel like shit if you are Tampa Bay. Why don't they just move them and get it over with?

You have a valid point, The Miz.

The Rangers have no chance, even in that crappy division. Past Rogers & Young their pitching is a joke

I too think it's a little early to call Kenny Rogers a Cy Young candidate. He started similar to this last year as well.

Also, I assume the playoffs looks like what Miz had, but it would be so random if it were the four I posted. No Sox, no Yanks, no Angels.

One difference between Rogers stats this year and last is his ERA. He does tend to fade in the second half, but you can't assume he will, not with the way he's been pitching this year over the previous years.

I hope Halladay and Pedro win the Cy's, but its still pretty early so anything can happen.

Hey where is that guy who said the Mets were gonna win the East, does he want me to laugh in his face now or save it for end of the season

The Yankees have come back from a 10-2 deficit and have made it 20-11 now.

Pretty ridiculous, so many home runs are being hit right now. I almost feel bad for this pitcher the Devil Rays have in right now, he just gave up 13 runs in the eighth inning.
