PlayStation Extreme Magazine Covers The Warriors

Check out the September issue of PlayStation Extreme Magazine, on newsstands now, for their cover story on The Warriors. Here is a brief look at some of what PSE had to say in their in-depth preview:

Wow. This is news? I thought it was cool when I first heard about it, but that's been a while.

Anyway, it's cool, though only part of the game will be free-roaming, and the rest will be linear.

Lets hope they have the crunching nuts move in there somewere..:naughty:

Game looks great so far. As long as its got good gameplay to go with the nice visuals i'll be happy. Rockstar aren't really known for their great fighting games are they? GTA had elements of fighting in it but nothing as good as say Streets of Rage.

Ive been waiting for a good beat em up game for years now. Hopefully this will be the one ive been waiting for. Looking good so far.

Wonder how much of an open enviroment it is.. and how interactive it is as well..

Hot Game I recomend atleast a rent;

Its just like GTA and manhunt mixed

they also got 9 on 9 now added to the original 5 on 5.

Im going to rent it, i'll put it in my game queue and play it when it comes.

How many hours of gameplay roughly?

I mean is it as long as Manhunt?

There are some Red Dead Revolver aspects, as well...

And ROFLMFAO at the "Survival" mode. It's basically running away and flailing desperately, trying to last a minute against a dozen dudes. So awesomely frustrating. By the time I picked up a weapon, BAM, on the ground. :'(

Anyway the camera on this game is pissing me off so bad, it's detracting from the super fun gameplay.

I mean DUDE. You hit a guy over the head with a beer bottle, then you STICK HIM WITH IT after it becomes a sharp piece of glass.

You can walk up to a bum lying in the street, point at him and tell your gang to destroy him. Then, as he's crawling away pathetically, you hit him once more in the back of the head, and watch as he vomits up blood and dies. Then, if you want more blood to spew from his mouth -- kick him in the gut over and over. It's like a fountain.

And if you want, you can use a chicken as a weapon from the butcher shop. Or a bong from the head shop! :eek:

This is a game like Red Dead -- I think it's fun, but it's absolutely pathetic compared to GTA, like it's a testing ground for things the next GTA will have... I dunno... it's hard to judge when it's compared to GTA... but I will love GTA if you can do the weapons things, and using your environment, to give it a more "natural" feel...

But that stupid camera... the fucking 2-player mode is horrible. It split-screens at random, and takes forever to come back to single-screen, and then when it does, the characters are always positioned awkwardly... there have been times where I went a good minute fighting behind a piece of tin over the camera.

Also, I read in Game Informer that they would have Online. They do not. :'(

I lasted 2:05 in survival

They also totally botched King of the hill.

Let me guess... you did the foot sweep thing? I didn't figure that out until after I got wasted at 47 seconds on Bopper.

Though Hardcore Soldier is the awesomest name for a level ever.

How'd they mess up KOTH? I sucked at that level on the game but 3rd time I dominated, it was wicked fun chucking people around.

I just went to the top of the apartment complex for survival

as for KOTH they only let in 2 teams of 3 which is mad easy to win.
