Yeah, the all-time lineup thread I did a while back ended up being pretty popularand a success, so here's another one (but with twisted rules) because I'm bored:

Basically, if the state you live in (or the state your favorite team is in) has more than 1 team, who would you put on it? Current players only...doesn't have to be current positions

If you still don't get it, here's my hybrid Mets/Yankees team:

Lineup
1. 2B - Jose Reyes (Gotta have the speediest guy in the team leading off)
2. CF - Carlos Beltran (assuming Carlos was playing to his fullest potential)
3. SS - Alex Rodriguez
4. RF - Gary Sheffield
5. LF - Hideki Matsui (Sooooo tempted to put Floyd over him, but I can't do it)
6. 3B - David Wright (Probably gonna get crap for not playing A-Rod at 3rd and Jeter at SS, but eh)
7. C - Jorge Posada
8. 1B - Mike Jacobs (Picked him over Giambi because he has better defense and is still a steady hitter)

If there's a DH, I'd put him in the 6-hole...if it were a RHP, it'd be Floyd (playing LF with Matsui as DH)...if it were a LHP, it would be Jeter

Bench
OF - Cliff Floyd (if no DH)
SS - Derek Jeter (if no DH)
C - Mike Piazza (strange having a backup catcher who can't throw, but I can't leave him off)
1B - Jason Giambi (could be useful in PH situations if in an NL park)
UTIL - Chris Woodward (because he can fill in anywhere I need him, good all around player)

Rotation
1. Pedro Martinez
2. Randy Johnson (again, assuming it was him playing to his potential)
3. Tom Glavine (if it were based on how he's pitching now)
4. Jae Seo (ditto)
5. Shawn Chacon (ditto)

Bullpen
Long Reliever - Aaron Small (ditto once again)
MRP - Juan Padilla
MRP - Aaron Heilman
MRP - Roberto Hernandez
MRP - Tim Hamulack (lefty specialist...actually he's the only lefty in the 'pen, but the 'pen is good enough so that I don't think it would matter)
SU - Tom Gordon
CP - Mariano Rivera

-----

So yeah, that's my all-NY team...I'd like to see others (gotta say, I'm curious to see what an all-California team would look like). Should bring some interesting results, but it can be deleted if no one is interested.

Not a Jeter fan, huh?
