5-2 win. Both Jagr and Leetch had a goal and 2 assists. Nedved broke an 8 game point scoring drought. Markannen made 38 saves. :y:

There are certainly enough games left in the season for the Rangers to turn it around and make the playoffs.

If they can improve in goal, there are no excuses to justify a poor performance by the team. As is, there shouldn't be any excuses with a team with that payroll and talent, however, they could get away will blaming weak goaltending.

Sort of off topic - Bure is a write off for the season, is his career finished or what? I miss the Russian Rocket. Man, if only he and Mogilny were still with Vancouver, they'd be more than a single line team. :shifty:

I do remember hearing talks that Bure might retire. I haven't heard anything since like October though.

And yeah, saw the scoresheet on ESPN. Looks like they put the Ottawa game behind them.

Bure is rehabbing in Florida. He wants to return.

If he does, the roster will be cluttered with forwards.

1 - Hlavac-Nedved-Jagr
2 - Rucinsky-Lindros-Bure
3 - Ortmeyer-Messier-Kovalev
4 - Simon-Holik-Barnaby

What happens with Lundmark, LaCoutre, and Rheaume? I personally think that Bure, if he becomes healthy, should be traded for a defenseman or a goalie... [then again, that'd be logical, so it won't happen]

Man, this has been said many times before but... Jesus Christ their roster is ****ing stacked

Yeah, but their defense:

Leetch, Poti, Mironov, Bouchard, Purinton, Pushor
Injured: Malakhov, Kasparaitis, de Vries

Only three healthy all-star caliber defensemen right now...

But seriously, the only place where they don't have a superstar is in net: Markkanen and LaBarbera. They should've gone after Joseph when they had the chance.

i should caution about getting excited over 1 game, they are after all the rangers. wouldn't be suprised to see them go after a burke or kolzig though. i'd be suprised if bure ever plays again, he's injury prone and any comeback will probably be short lived. besides he doesn't have the passion for the game.

What the Rangers need is a head coach. As long as Sather is the GM, they won't get one. Getting Brian Trottier showed that Sather had a sense of humor.

Here's how I'd do the lines.

Kovalev-Nedved-Jagr
Rucinsky-Lindros-Bure
Simon-Holik-Barnaby
Ortmeyer-Messier-Lundmark

(I'd trade Hlavac).

Kovalev is a right wing, though. Nedved and Hlavac have proven to have chemistry back when Dvorak was with them on the "Czech line". Jagr, being a Czech, fits perfectly with them. Messier and Kovalev were great together when they played with Graves on the left wing. Ortmeyer reminds me of Mike York: a hard working youngster who's willing to give 100% every night for a spot in the NHL.

They need help on defense and in the net.

Kovalev is Russian, and both Kovalev and Jagr are right wings.

Well, Rheaume got picked up by St. Louis. The only reason they got Rheaume was to replace Lindros when he was injured. Now Lindros is out and Rheaume is gone... does this mean that Lundmark will be playing?

No they don't. They need more superstars on offense.<</>/Sather's train of thought>

Manny Fernandez will probably be traded, do you think the Rangers would look at that?
