I'll give it an 8.5.

I remember watching this PPV and enjoying it, even if it was before my tenure with TPWW. Really loved the Edge, RVD, Triple H (although a Jericho win would've owned too. that was win/win for me.) wins. Only thing that lowers this was a Billy/Chuck tag win.

Overall, still a pretty solid PPV.

Not that great of a WrestleMania, and personally I didn't "feel it" between Rock and Hogan.

- RVD/Regal didn't work
+ RVD IC Champ
+ I really liked Xtian/DDP
+ The HC Title bits were funny esp. Xtian with the stable door
+ Kane/Angle was better than expected
- Angle cudda been used better elsewhere
++ Absolutely loved Hogan/Rock, wasn't expecting to feel so on-the-edge-of-my-seat
- ME was let down by poor booking in the run-up
- HHH winning (even though it was so obviously gonna happen

This Wrestlemania will always be special for me as I was there live. It had such a Wrestlemania feel to it. Rock vs Hogan is the greatest match i have ever ever seen. I wasn't a wrestling fan when Hulkamania was running wild back in the 80s/early 90s but i definately heard of the name Hulk Hogan. I don't think we'll ever see a crowd show appreciation like that ever again.

I will always say that Undertaker vs Ric Flair is one of the most under-rated matches of all time. When was the last time you saw Taker do a Top-rope superplex? Austin vs Hall was decent as well

The main-event could have been good but it just wasn't. both HHH and Jericho sucked in the match. It also doesn't help having to go after Rock/Hogan.

Rock vs Hogan and the 68,000 + crowd made this night memorable for me

Whoever decided to put the Women's Championship match after Rock/Hogan was fucking stupid.

5.

The REAL main event, Rock vs Hogan, was a true spectacle, and the crowd reaction was so incredible that it luckily distracted from what was a rather mediocre match as far as the in-ring action went. For atmosphere and historical significance, there was no way WWE were going to top this, and so, it should have gone on last.

Undertaker vs Ric Flair was also a big surprise, in that it was an excellent match! Flair had been involved in a gimmicky brawl with Vince McMahon at the Royal Rumble which had been entertaining, but prior to this had not been in a great wrestling match for about five years or more. He showed up in great shape and certainly held his own in the match, and Undertaker as a heel around this time had seen a real creative comeback, and was on form as a wrestler and a character again for the first time in years. Couple this with a good build-up to the match, and you had a fine WrestleMania moment. (Arn Anderson hitting a spinebuster was also a feel-good moment for me.)

The reason WMX-8 doesn't score any higher with me is simply because, of an 11-match card, only two matches really delivered.

For the second year in a row, William Regal entered a poor performance in an Intercontinental title opener, dragging down a superior opponent. As a result, RVD's big title winning moment didn't seem quite as important as it should have.

DDP vs Christian was too short to get any kind of momentum going, but at least it had some kind of storyline attached to it.

The 24/7 Hardcore gimmick was past its sell-by-date here, mainly due to lack of creative booking. It provided some humour, I guess, but it just seemed like the time to pull the plug already.

Kurt Angle's match with Kane suffered the same fate as his previous year's match with Benoit. A sudden and confusing ending which literally came out of nowhere. The match itself was okay, but the ending spoiled it. And I'm sure there was, but I can't remember any storyline going into this match, which is a bad sign.

Edge vs Booker T. Weren't they feuding over a shampoo commercial or something? Just a filler match to give Edge a win in his hometown. Nothing special.

Stone Cold vs Scott Hall was a waste of time. The angles leading up to this show were pretty poor, and why Hall?? Why not Nash, who was the bigger star and a more worthy WM opponent for Austin? Seeing Austin in a mid-card match against a mid-card wrestler was quite strange at the time, and it seemed WWE were trying to phase out Austin while he was still extremely popular (He had not long turned babyface and introduced the new "WHAT?" gimmick, which got over. And remains over to this day.)

The fatal four way and women's title matches again were fillers and brought nothing to the show.

And the Undisputed title match was a mess from the day they announced it. Triple H and Jericho had no hope of following Rock and Hogan, mainly because Jericho had not been promoted as a threat to Hunter whatsoever. There was no anticipation or drama, because everybody in that arena KNEW that HHH was taking the title. And they knew because the REAL main event feud at WMX-8 wasn't HHH vs Jericho, it was HHH vs Stephanie. So the feud fell flat, the match fell flat, and Jericho gets the blame! Whatcha gonna do??

I think I liked practically everything. The main event wasn't nearly as good as it should have been.

I loved Austin vs Hall.

Christian vs DDP was fantastic. If I remember, it was the best wrestling match of the night.

I liked Edge vs Booker T. Their feud leading up to it was awesome. Booker T being stupid and funny was awesome.

Rock vs Hogan was unbelievable... Even though he match was so-so. The crowd was like no other. I don't think we'll ever get a crowd that loud and into a match ever again. (The Goldberg vs Lesnar crowd is different. They wren't into the match because it sucked)

I enjoyed the tag team macth. The highlights of that match were Bradshaw's clothesline from hell on Billy Gunn, and Stacy's sweet ass.

The hardcore segments were pretty funny.

I liked everything. Even the live performances.
