um, there is nothing wrong with this thread.

it's sad how low ratings are compared to back in 2000, especially as of late.

I watched smackdown for the first time in 3 - 4 months last week, and I have to say it seemed pretty weird. You've got a boogeyman, a pirate, an irish dude, mexican, texas and native american stereotypes, and a midget in a mask. To the casual fan, it might seem more like a cartoon show than a wrestling program.

LOL nextly the time slot ain't right and with all of those spoilers on the net. Maybe they should show it Live.

I like how Smackdown is right now, I find "a boogeyman, a pirate, an irish dude, mexican, texas and native american stereotypes" to be a refreshing change. Smackdown isn't great, but I think Smackdowns ratings should be higher.

I'm not saying it's bad, but it may seem strange to the casual fan.

or maybe it's just because i haven't watched smackdown in a long time and haven't seen all of these guys debut and it seems strange that every second person coming to the ring is some sort of stereotype or cartoon character

That's nothing.

Compare SNME's first run to it's latest episode...

It NEVER went below a 6 (it's last event). Compare that to the 2.9 and it's more than half lower than the first run's lowest rating.

That's a huge tank in ratings... Vince needs to get off his ass and do something to solve this problem.

I used to LOVE Smackdown. Adn when the roster had Benoit, Eddie, Angle, Edge, Rey, heel Cena & Brock, etc I honestly think it was the better show.

I know for certain though that since its moved to Friday I've watched maybe 3 episodes in their entirety. Friday night is just a shitty night. And whether or not it was live it still wouldn't make a difference to me.

The time slot wasn't a problem short term, but it sure will be longterm.

Also, making it live won't help any.

Australians are lucky, because smackdown airs at 2:30pm so we can still go out Friday night

Would I be incorrect in assuming that Australian kids get out of school at 3:00 like American kids? Because if that's the case it'd suck for WWE to air it then since all of the unique gimmicks are surely aimed at a younger audience. If it takes the kids a half hour to get home, they've already missed half the show by that point.

Unique gimmicks?

BTW, I think the Aussies may have come up with the VCR...

We get a channel which shows the same shows two hours later, so that is how the school kids can watch.

*edit* I actually realized that the 2:30pm start time was on Daylight savings time, which ended a few days back, the true time is 3:30pm.
