Anyone on here ever had or played it? Wasn't it supposed to be the PS1's big rival?

So? I've never played a dreamcst. And that was PS2's rival for a good while.

I have one. It's alright. A few decent games on it.

The only decent games were Panzer Dragoon, Virtual Fighter 2, and Nights :o

When it came out, it was 399 bucks. And, like you said, it had to compete with the PS1, which had more games and a cheaper price tag.

I doubt many people on here have ever touched one.

It just basically bombed.

I actually think it was the other way around. SEGA was an established video-game company at the time, while Sony was just getting its feet wet.

Unfortunately for SEGA, the PlayStation wound up being cheaper and had better games, so it wasn't much of a competition.

I seen a Saturn in a pawn shop a few weeks back for £15 with a few games. Still didn't buy it though. :$

In a semi related note, anyone play the mega drive version of virtua fighter 2?

Worst fucking thing ever.

Actually, Shenmue was on the Dreamcast. I had a demo for it, before I sold the Dreamcast to buy a PS1.

One of my friends had one all those years ago. All I remember playing on it was some racing game.

Ah Sega Saturn. Wasn't that the one with the music player that would hide the controls and spaceship or something would fly around. It was good while it lasted. Right up there with the 32x attachment. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Best part about Saturn was it's great 2d games, RPGs, and of course, the music player. :D I think the Vocal Remover still works very well with some CDs.

I would love to play my Saturn right now, but when you turn it off, the internal memory is wiped, and I'm too lazy to ebay a memory card.

You need a new battery, it takes about 15 seconds to replace and is incredibly simple to do. Can't remember which size code the battery is, but it's one of those flat round ones.

Ah, that's the problem? I will replace it soon, I'd like to play Albert Odyssey again.

Yeah, there's a removeable cover on the back (no screws or anything), it's in there.

Saturn was had such an "underground" feel to it...like a system people dissed but man if you EVER played the imports they had for it....they were mad fun.

I remb in video mags back in the day alwasy showing us some ill game that the japan version was geting and we were......fuck they had "Castlevania symphony of the night" on it AND it had 2 extra areas or something AND you could play as maria....what a sleeper system it was

Still own one.

Was worth it for the SNK and Capcom imports they got long after the system was written off... still the best home versions of X-Men vs Street Fighter and Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter to date (you got jipped if you swore by the PS1 versions).
