Jason Statham from the Transporter. A Bond with a buzzcut? A new Bond for a new era?

And what is his nationality anyway? Irish? English? Aussie? or what?

He's English. He'd definitely be an interesting Bond...I dunno.

Speaking of the bad ass, I can't wait for his next movie, Crank.

Plot: A hit man (Statham) learns that the poison in his body will kill him if his heart rate drops below a certain point.

Apparently he just goes around the city picking fights with gangs and shit to keep his heart rate up.

I love The Transporter movies. Mindless...and plotless action flicks. Very fun.

Yeah they need to make at least 1 more.

The first one was awesome. The second one was ok but it left me unsatisfied for some reason.

for some odd reason, all i could think about was how this whole post, from begining to end, made me think of sex, and how similar the two can be SOMEtimes

Eric Bana had the part, then somehow went to Daniel Craig. Who got blonde hair and doesn't smoke. That pissed off major bond fans and now they are calling to boycott the new movie Casino Royale. But anyway back to the subject. My choice for Ian Flemming's James Bond 007 would be Eric Bana. He was damn good in BlackHawk Down and Munich. But as stated above, he had it and lost it. Will rep if you can find the reason why?

Jason Statham would be a terrible Bond. No finesse at all.

The first Transporter is probably the second or third most unintenionally funny movie I've ever seen.

i personally dislike the entire series, but yeah, he'd definitely be a far better choice.

-1. Daniel Craig is one ugly motherfucker

-2. Before i saw Layer Cake, i only knew him from his character in Road to Perdition.

earlier today I was reading that Clive Owen was asked to be the new James Bond but he turned it down because he wanted to go a different way in his career...

I thought to myself...HOLY CRAP!!!...Clive Owen would make a kick ass James Bond...I could picture that...

Dude, no. He's too rough around the edges to be a good Bond.

He's best when he's playing a working class thug in heist-gone-wrong films.

Yeah, Clive Owen would have been The Man as Bond.

As soon as I saw Owen in "The Bourne Identity," I turned to my friend and said "THAT's James Bond!" That was before he got famous.

But, apparently, he wants to be able to make edgier stuff ("Inside Man," "Derailed," "Closer," etc.) and he doesn't believe that he'd be able to do that and play Bond.

Gotta admire the guy for turning down a guaranteed huge payday for art's sake. Then again, he turned down a huge payday. I'm really disappointed he didn't take it.

That right there is probably the best plot for a movie in movie plot history.

And that incudes outer space movies that aliens made.
