But anyway back to the subject. My choice for Ian Flemming's James Bond 007 would be Eric Bana. He was damn good in BlackHawk Down and Munich. But as stated above, he had it and lost it. As soon as I saw Owen in "The Bourne Identity," I turned to my friend and said "THAT's James Bond!" That was before he got famous.

But, apparently, he wants to be able to make edgier stuff ("Inside Man," "Derailed," "Closer," etc.) and he doesn't believe that he'd be able to do that and play Bond.

Gotta admire the guy for turning down a guaranteed huge payday for art's sake. Then again, he turned down a huge payday. I'm really disappointed he didn't take it.
