You'll here this news breaking within the next week, believe it or don't if you want...

Mania 24 - There is an extremely good chance that the show will be coming from London, England or Melbourne, Australia. And it won't be on tape delay which means a midnight Sunday night start in London or a 9am start (I think) in Melbourne.

What are the possible venues for each place? I don't think WWE would go to Wembly Stadium in March/April, would they?

I would gladly eat my words if it ends up happening, but it ain't gonna happen. And don't start with "Anything can happen" shit, it ain't gonna happen. Period.

...Anyone think it's werid that if your entire sentence is "Period" you put a "." after it?

Fucking teh pwn, and to think I went all the way to Chicago, when 24 might be in London.

Though, going to Chicago adds to the experience.

Wembly ARENA.

There's no way Wembley Arena is big enough to host Wrestlemania. It'd have to be Wembley Stadium or nothing.

Tornado
05-03-2006, 07:46 PM
Yeah, Wembley Arena would hold an insulting 10,000 or so for a Wrestlemania, so it'd have to be Wembley Stadium, which would hold around 85,000/90,000 for it, and WILL sell out.

Wembley Stadium ready by 2007? Hmm... yeahhh...

If its going to be a stadium of sorts, the new Arsenal ground is apparently coming around soon isnt it? Since Arsenal are moving from Highbury... Me not being an Arsenal fan though may have it slightly incorrect ;)

Emerates Stadium its called.. Will host 60,000 people and is going to be used during the next season of Football - So thats August 2006 onwards... It could be... you never know!

Mike the Metal Ed
05-03-2006, 08:19 PM
I was discussing the likelihood of it being held at the Emirates Stadium, but it only holds 60,000 and doesn't have the name recognition that Wembley does.

And if it was in Melbourne it would be a 10am start in America.

I'm from New York and I'd be very happy to see England get Wrestlemania, quite frankly English fans are some of the most die hard, along with Canadians. England deserves a Wrestlemania. I doubt 24 will be in England, but I'm sure Wrestlemania will go abroad before it comes back to Madison Square Garden for Wrestlemania 30, frankly it would be embarassing for the WWE, which claims to be the "World Wide Leader" and plays live in however many countries, to not have a Wrestlemania out side of North America, England totally deserves it.

By WM24, WWE may only be selling under 10,000 tickets per show if they can't save the product.

I'm in Melbourne, so quite obviously I'm really excited about this. All I need now is confirmation of whether it will be here or not, and I'm good.

Instead of having it in the normal place like Vodafone Arena, they should put it at the MCG or Telstra Dome for 120,000+.:D (Yeah, probably won't work out, but meh.)

I doubt Melbourne would get it. I do think England is in with a chance, though. Then maybe other countries like Australia or Japan.

I just hope Brisbane gets a PPV, eventually.

If they came to Australia, and I am aware Melbourne is perfectly capable of hosting Wrestlemania, I would have thought Sydney would be in the agenda first. You know, it being the capital city and all.

Wrestlemania 24 will be in 2008, hopefully Wembley Stadium will be ready by then, and if WWE decide to hold it in the UK, it would HAVE to be Wembley, just for the name recognition.

Oh, and if this is actually true, I might need a towel.

Aren't they putting a retractable roof on Wembley?

Now that I think of it, if it isn't on a tape delay when coming from London, how would they get around the issue of noise, as there are quite a few residential areas around Wembley Stadium?

What about the millenium stadium in cardiff doesn't that hold 150,000 plus? Although hopefully we can get it over here. They better bring a better stage set than they used for Raw/Smackdown over here. The English titantron sucks.

Tornado
05-04-2006, 11:50 AM
Millenium Stadium holds 72,500 or something for football, but thats seated only. Figure in the extra floor seats, then the space they need for the set. Wembley would have a MUCH higher capacity.

Edit - The old Wembley had a seated capacity of 80'000, the new one has 90'000. Summerslam had a gate number of 80'355, so figure in that todays sets are more elaborate than the ones in 1992, I reckon Wembley would have a capacity of around 88'000 for Wrestlemania.

Uh....my eating my own words comment was more based on the earlier joke about Bret Hart being there. Frankly I have no problem believing that WrestleMania could take place somewhere other then America or Canada.

Oh, and Soccer still sucks, the only reason it's so popular is the rest of the world can't afford the equipment needed for other sports...you all have to pool your money to get one ball. :shifty:

The Millenium Stadium would be ideal, with the roof closing COMPLETELY, basically turning it into (for wrestling) about a 85,000 capacity arena. Plus it's only 20 miles from here for me. :D But Mania would never be in Cardiff. If it were to come to the UK, it would definetely be in England. I think I'd travel to the ticket office in London and camp out for tickets if it did come here.

No need to tell anyone. Same dude who told me about the ECW invasion and Mysterio winning the Rumble days before they happened and I posted that here. Just wait 2 weeks and every site on the net will be "reporting" it.
