We are like the Star Trek fans of sports/pseudo-sports. Think about it.


A lot of us watch every week, even if it's shit.

We dress up when we go to events and take signs.

We write out pages of storylines and angles for fantasy purposes.

We play games that can take that further.

We complain, bitch and moan about inconsistencies.

We have our own lingo.


Anything else I'm sure I'm missing add here to this thread and discuss the topic at hand.

A thing that makes it most eaiser on us is that almost everyone from the past 20 or so years has watched at least part of a wrestling show or two, and a lot were casual fans. So they at least know where we're coming from, regardless of whether they think it's childish or not.

Also by comparing us with Trekies you can make the arguement that we're nerds, but you could also compare us (wrestling fans) to football (NFL) fans, and most of them aren't nerds.

-Both watch respected sport's/shows religiously

-Both dress up/buy clothing and other items of your favourite team/wrestler

-You can argue people "mark out" for certain moves, plays, so forth.

- In both cases it watching muscled up men beating the crap outa each other.

- Both fans will stand up for a favourite (Player, Team, wrestler) and argue why they are (god's, the best so forth) to the death
