In 1980 it was a one state competition, now it's in every state that matters (NT/Tas/ACT don't count).

Don't hate on it because other sports can't get their act together. Not that soccer has it's on a good roll, and that's great. The more you blokes delude yourselves from the obvious the worse the division is going to get between the codes.
