I kinda wanna buy Xbox 360 when Madden 07 comes out, but I kinda wanna buy a PS3 too.

I dunno. Don't wanna be spending so much cash but I do kinda want a 360. Just about every game that comes out for PlayStation is coming out for Xbox nowadays anyway right?

Yeah, just get a 360, you won't be missing much, if anything.

I am wondering the same thing. Since I missed out on the first X-Box, I think I'll get a 360 first, then like a year after the PS3 comes out and the hype is all gone (you can find them in every store), I'll pick one of those up.

Was gonna get a Revolution first, but Nintendo has turned extremely homorific by naming it the Wii.

Why not both?

You pretty much only play sports titles right? You may as well just get a 360. No reason to be paying $500 or $600 if you aren't serious about gaming.

Yeah Funky is right. Even tho PS3 will be superior.

Yeah, if you're only getting it for sports titles, 360 looks like the way to go.

Impossible to tell at this point. The general consensus of developers is that graphically, PS3 and X360 games will be indistinguishable. The PS3's Cell processor has a slight edge over 360's Xenon CPU (although it has the added drawback of being a complete pain in the neck to program for), while 360's ATI graphics unit is slightly better than PS3's RSX unit (developed by NVIDIA).

So, with the hardware being a wash, it all boils down to the games. For $600, I'm not seeing much in the pipeline to really light my fire (outside of Sony's continued monopoly on the fighting genre -- Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur and Tekken are strong cards, indeed).

360 is the way to go right now. You can find one almost anywhere now that sales have come to almost a complete halt. But they are churning out games really slow. And check the list to make sure your games are backwards compatible.

That's still a lot of money to be spending for sports games. I would just get an original xbox, or a ps2.

An n64 is even cheaper. Madden 98 was pretty good.

If you want it now and have the cash then 360 obviously. I'm not going into the which is the superior system debate because it's a waste of time and Sony has pissed me off to no avail the past year so I'd be biased anyway. Both have a pretty heavy pricetag so I think you need to be pretty into gaming to buy either, we have two. But for sports games yeah.... actually I say yeah period because I love my 360 and while far from perfect the positives outweigh the negatives.

And Sony can suck my ass

Madden 07 for Wii's gonna be the shit. Still pissed about the ESPN thing but what can I do. The Wii controls for Madden seem interesting enough to try out (or even buy) for Wii.

I'm gonna have all three systems by 2008 so I don't worry about which to get. Since I need to know if PS3's reliable or not I'm gonna ask that you get it before me.

Sacrifices are needed.

Wait for the PS3. You are a movie fan as well and, especially if you are getting an HDTV, you will be happy with the choice that includes the Blu-Ray player. This way you don't have to buy an add-on, like you would with the 360 HD-DVD, and you won't have to pay $1,000+ for a stand-alone Blu-Ray player.

Plus you will be happy with the selection for more reasons then that.

*BUMP*

But yeah, didn't want to make another thread, but I'm beginning to be swayed away from the PS3. I don't give a shit about Blu-Ray, as I don't plan on getting a new TV anytime soon, as I bought a new 27 inch last year.

The games on the 360 are actually looking better than PS3's at the moment, gameplay-wise to me. With GTA4 and SmackDown! vs. RAW going multi-platform right off the bat, the ONLY game keeping me from making the complete ship-jump is MGS4. If I could get conformation of that going to the 360 by late 2008 I may actually jump on it.

360 is easily the way to go.

I really only played sports titles and GTA on PS2, but I'll probably expend my horizons and try out some first person shooters that sll my friends seem to love.

BTW I too am gonna get it when Madden 07 is out. Anyone know if they are gonna be releasing Madden 07 bundles?

Doubtful - Sony's been making a lot of stupid decisions as of late, but it's very well aware that Metal Gear Solid is one of its flagship titles. Konami received a very nice chunk of change to keep Metal Gear Solid 3 off the Xbox, and I would suspect such to be the case for this go-round as well.
