Ortiz will win the derby.
Only if he's in a clutch situation.

Do they do it like that? A tournament bracket thing? I thought all eight went and then the top two went again?

Anyway, on ESPN.com I voted for Ryan Howard so thats what I'll stay at.

Howard won the Home run Derby and is on his way to becomming the next Bobby Abreu.

Well, hey being a Pirate Fan, can say this... Atleast our Stadium is great lol. I hope Howard doesnt turn out like Abreu, but all the theorist that blame the HRD for him falling off the Earth, thats just ridiculous.

First all star game and stuff i saw was 1999 when Pedro wiped the floor with the NL and Mark McGwire hit about 200 home runs half way across Boston, that was pretty sweet even if he was blatantly injecting roids into his jeb-end

I dunno, kinda hard to picture Brad Penny shutting down that AL lineup.

My guess is AL wins it again, but the NL could score some runs if the worst All-Star in history (Mark Redman) gets put in the game for some reason.

Yeah that was sick, I've seen a Manny Ramirez homer go further though. Bounced out onto the Mass Pike lol ridiculous

Mike Piazza hit a home run out into the parking lot at Dodger Stadium (at least once, maybe twice) which is pretty ridiculous

Question: They say "this game counts" and the winner gets homefield in the World Series and all, but what about some of the players that know they will not be going to the series (like Redman). Are they really playing 100%? Do they give a shit whether another player from another city that is playing with him gets homefield?

The Miz
07-11-2006, 01:26 PM
None of the players are playing 100% whether they're in a race or not

My favourite Piazza moment is still him getting all hot under the collar when Clemens through the bat in the 2000 WS

Oh well, I figured AL would win anyway...I just wish they could have made it less depressing.

Ah well, gonna try and get tix for Games 3, 4, and 5 at Shea now :shifty:
