View Full Version : Well, it's the Big Show.

I've mentioned this before, but I feel that it bears repeating. Big Show has been absolutely amazing of late. He's being pushed as the monster that everyone knows he should be. He's giving both himself and the ECW title The credit that is so sorely needed. He has had consistently good matches since being given the ball. He had a great "big man" match last week against the Taker (of all people), this week, had an incredible match against Kane.

All I can say is that I'm really enjoying where they're going with Big Show, and ECW in general is profiting from his reign. The possibilities are really limitless with this. As long as they keep his steam going.

This is making me feel like a mark again; and thats always a good thing.

I agree, I have actually been a big fan of Big Show's reign...wow...there is a sentence I never thought I would say.

Can't wait til they feud him with RVD. That title chase is going to be hot.

For some odd reason, I can see a 3-way dance between RVD,Sabu, and Show at the first ECW PPV.

He is a fighting champ and defending the belt every week.

Definitely. The ECW title scene is being very well handled. Instead of squashing their own talent they are putting Show over the RAW and SD! talent. By feeding the very over RAW and SD! stars when it comes time for Show to feud with an ECW "extremist" (yeah, thats gay) they will be able to put them over in a huge way. Although it feels like they should having more ECW guys in the main event, this is the most intelligent move. Big Show may be on the "C" show, but this is the run he deserves.

Even though he's only a place holder for RVD.

I think they are handling the lack of ECW competitors well too. They are having it look like Paul Heyman is afraid to have Show defend the title against the ECW talent.

This is one very good thing that the WWE didn't screw up. :y:

Hm. I got sick of Big Show long ago, way before I could possible recover from my boredom.

I've said it before: give this show four months (by the time of there first PPV,) and you will be watching one of the best shows on TV in years. A slow start though they've had, once this ball gets rolling I'm not sure what will derail it. I haven't lost my confidence in the new ECW.

James Steele

I actually am enjoying it. I knew not to expect the ECW of the mid-1990s.

You can't see this on the chart, but there is a notation that says it stopped the apex of JBL's cool-peak since the paper wasn't long enough compared to one Skip P. Ord.

I will have Nash draw up another chart to truly portray the difference in "cool levels".

I've been saying this for years. Post-wcw, whenever show was given the ball and put in the main event, he consistently delivered good matches. He's seriously underrated.

Basically, this chart says that JBL is cool from top to bottom while Skippord is uncool from top to bottom. Therefore, JBL is clearly cooler and Skippord is clearly an ignorant ass!

Not compaired to Sabin....

However, the list goes...

Christopher Daniels > Kazarian > Chris Sabin > Kevin Nash > Michael Shane > The Big Show

I don't think Big Show will ever be the unstoppable killer heel he was during the attitude era (his feud with the Rock was pretty cool), but none-the-less he has still delivered some good "holy shit" moments... the ring breaking and the chokeslam on JBL being two of the more memorable.

Big Show VS Bam Bam Bigelow would be rad.

I like Big Show. I can't believe he's done what he has in his career. He's won the WCW Championship twice, the WWE Championship twice, the ECW Championship, been Runner-Up in the Royal Rumble twice and headlined WrestleMania. I really underestimate the guy's value to the industry when looking at him, but hopefully in ECW he can rise to the tier he arguably belongs to.

He'll probably lose the ECW Title at Summerslam to Rob Van Dam, but if he remains a top heel in ECW, I doubt being Heavyweight Champion will matter much. It's kind of odd that Big Show's last two Heavyweight Title reigns have taken place under Paul Heyman's SmackDown! booking and ECW (which isn't Heyman's, but still). I guess Heyman must be a big fan of the guy. Show really carried the Punjabi Prison Match at The Great American Bash, as well. I mean, it still sucked pretty bad, and The Undertaker was the guy doing a lot of the work physically, but all the drama was Big Show's. He's realy stepped up his game.

Show and Heyman are very close friends. Show even said he regretted not ever going to the new ECW even. Heyman said before that he thinks Big Show is underated and can have great matches when the right guy comes along.
