Seriously, holy shit, he is so good.

Obviously not "ever", but I will go as far to say that he is my favorite actor right now, of "our generation".

It's like, every time I see him on screen I mark out. The only other actors I do that for, really, are Pacino and Steve Buscemi (cause he is the mannn too).

He can play like any role, and he can do it perfectly. He does drama golden, of course, and even in comedy, he is classic. His role in Along Came Polly was like Will Ferrell-Old School ROFL shit.

I love him.

Happiness - His performance in that is one of, if not my favorite performance of all time.
Boogie Nights -
Punch-Drunk Love -
Owning Mahowny - The movie is good, not great, but his performance is gold.
Magnolia
25th Hour
Love Liza (haven't seen it yet but I heard he was amazing in it)
Along Came Polly

That's not his best performance, since he's only in a relatively small role. Try to get Happiness if you can. It was almost impossible to find it here but I did eventually in some ghetto video store.

It's my favorite movie ever.

Oh yeah, I forgot "Flawless". He plays a transvestite alongside Robert De Niro.

He's alright. I haven't seen a bad performance or a bad movie with him in it but I can say that about a few people.

Every movie I see him in his character manages to annoy the shit out of me somehow.

Yeah, he was the obnoxious tabloid reporter. I saw the movie last weekend.

Yeah they call guys like him "character actors" alright Afif.

You're going to need to know these things if you really want to succeed in this business, kid.

Yea, same here. Maybe I'm too caught up in being totally fucking annoyed at the character to pay attention to his acting ability. Maybe that statement alone implies positive things about his acting? *shrug*

I fucking hated Red Dragon.

So long and so boring.

Red Dragon was great. I bet you were a big Hannibal fan.

Also, Red Dragon was like two hours long. THAT IS PRETTY STANDARD, dick.

And I don't see how you can say it's boring. It was pretty mainstreamed up and not slow paced at all.

It felt pretty long for me. I was just like, "Get on with it already."

I wasn't a Hannibal fan, and still haven't got around to seeing Silence of the Lambs. I did read the Red Dragon book, and I was psyched for the movie, but I just didn't enjoy it.

So you are one of those "the book was better than the movie" people.

So you are one of those "the book was better than the movie" people.

I try to stay away from books that are going to be movies. Red Dragon and Be Cool are the only ones I've read, and Be Cool isn't even out yet.

Red Dragon just didn't appeal to me as much as I thought it would have. There were parts I thought were not useful at all, there characters weren't likeable enough for me to feel any tension with them, etc.

The only things I liked about the movie were the blind chick, Hannibal, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman.

He owned that movie.
