WWE Hall of Famer “Rowdy” Roddy Piper has been hospitalized in Oregon for surgery after being sent home from WWE’s tour of the United Kingdom. Piper’s original diagnosis was kidney stones, however, sources close to the situation say the former World Tag Team Champion’s surgery may be a result of disc problems.

Due to Piper's injury, he will not participate at Survivor Series and will be replaced by a legend to be named later. Ric Flair will now be the lone captain of the legends team and Kenny will captain the Spirit Squad.

So, who do you think will take his place? My bet is either IRS or Hacksaw.

:'( Why can't Arn's spine just give us one more good one.

Hopefully this isn't a ring career threatening injury for piper.

Not to be insensitive, but I hope this is in ring career ending. I love Piper but the man needs to stop, it's embarassing.

They could go numerous ways with this. The first is to have Hacksaw Jim Duggan step up. This makes a lot of sense, as Hacksaw is considered a Legend, plus he's recently signed a contract extension. May as well use him, eh?

The other option is another Legend. KoOS brought up a good (and likely) suggestion in Jimmy Snuka. Two more suggestions, which are more modern, but would still be awesome: Faarooq, Goldust or Dean Malenko. I doubt any of them will happen, but come on, how sweet would it be to see Dean Malenko at Survivor Series? I'm still hoping that they have Chris Benoit vs. Dean Malenko at December to Dismember in a "ECW's Tribute to Eddie Guerrero". That'd be a sweet match. This could serve as warm-up.

Goldust would just make sense, being Dusty Rhodes' son and all. It's wrong that the WWE constantly releases him because they "don't have any plans". They never have any plans, and Goldust is a versatile character.

The last option, and possibly my favourite, is to have a young guy team with the Legends. Cody Runnels is in OVW, learning the ropes and what-not. Bring him up to team with his father as Cody Rhodes. You don't need to keep him around, just use it to get him exposure, like Eric Angle. Only this will hopefully pan out.

With Kenny now being named Team Captain of The Spirit Squad, I can see Johnny refusing to compete in the match. This takes it down to 3 vs. 3. Kenny could have Mitch enter the match, and Ric Flair could take Johnny, complete with the newly revealed surname of Jeter. It'd provide a way of winning for the Legends, without damaging young talent in the process.

Gotta think it's supposed to be a Brit or similar.

Rikishi. He did it for Ric Flair...he did it...for the legends.

Ah! I'm not sure how I missed that, but you are correct. My apologies for calling you wrong when I didn't properly read. :)

A "mass" in his spine? That never sounds good, but hopefully it is harmless.

After Hogan [Jokingly of course!] id probably stick a punt on Mick Foley... Those two have a bit of history together, recent history too, so hmm!

Well... I just seen Farooq in the ring during that mass brawl on the website - guess that means its him in it? Damn..
