what do you expect, its WWE magazine. They're gonna try to put over their current champion. Everyone knows its the Stunner by a landslide.
Why the fuck is the Masterlock on there!?

I wonder why the Olympic Slam didn't make the cut....
THE WEST COAST POP!?
Christ, what about the Rock Bottom or F5!?
The Masterlock? FU? Edge's Spear? Leg Drop?

On that note, I would like to see what you guys would put as the top 10 most devastating finishers.

The Stunner is the best finisher ever. Convincing, can come from almost out of no where, and the most over fucking move in the history of the industry. F5 gets notes for impressworthiness (see: Big Show) and Leg Drop for the sake of historically it has beaten a Who's Who over the past 30 years. I agree that Sweet Chin Music and Pedigree both deserve a place in the top ten, though I don't know that #2 & 3 are deserved. But hey, let's throw logic to the wind and put Cena and DX over everything else...kind of like their booking.

I stopped looking when I seen the Mandible Claw, but maybe its number of matches ended with that specific move, makes sense why the FU would be number one.

The gorilla press slam? Are you fucking kidding me? They leave out the f5 and the angle slam, but keep the warriors finisher. Thats just wrong.

i always thought warrior's real finisher was the jumping splash and the gorilla press slam was just a set up. at least from the matches i remember watching.

Yeah, my friend showed me this after he bought the magazine just to see the list. Boy, was he disappointed but c'mon now it's Double Double E magazine!
At least Malenko and Benoit are getting some props in this godawful list.

If I would have to give a top 10 list, and keep in mind I'm doing this in kayfabe as if the compettition and seriousness of the move was "real"....
10.Olympic Slam
9. Tombstone
8. F5- Wasn't around long
7. Sweet Chin Music- Was devestating except when they'd claim "he didnt get all of it"
6. Rock Bottom- Was always a big thrill move with devestating effects, but in the later years became often kicked out of and merely a precursor to the Peoples Elbow.
5. Crippler Crossface, suprsingly has remained rarely broken
4. Pedigree- This move has seen pushes ended and dreams shattered for talent and fans alike.
3. Hogan leg drop
2. The Sharpshooter - at its time it was unbreakable and 100% matchender
1. Stone Cold Stunner

They also left out the Canadian Destroyer, Vertabreaker, and Karma *A.K.A. Quad Tear of Doom*
So what?
It's clear that the point of the list isn't to put over guys who are suing WWE or workinf got the enemy. The list is fueled by currents with some classic ones thrown in for looks.

Chris Benoit got some love, too. :y:

Thats got to be the most lethal combination of two moves ever used by a wrestler.
The 'looking like a retard when coming out the curtain'.
How a lame ass standing fireman's carry (the so-homo-ly named "F-U") is more devastating than Brock Lesnar's F5, The Rock's Rock Bottom, Kevin Thorn's Stunner-variation, Paul London or Billy Kidman's Shooting Star Press, or even Test's new Test Drive move is way too far beyond my ordinary levels of fucking comprehension.
Piper's old man Sleeper Hold is move devastating than an F5? Fuck you, WWE.
Kane Knight
01-11-2007, 10:45 PM
Those who follow a company most frequently headed by a man who finishes off other guys by "Stroking" them should not throw stones.

Who cares? It's only WWE. Why are you guys so shocked?
Those who follow a company most frequently headed by a man who finishes off other guys by "Stroking" them should not throw stones.
Okay. But TNA rated Petey Williams' "Canadian Destroyer" as the most devastating finisher of 2006. They're not going to bullshit their fans and try to convince them that a reverse russian leg sweep is more devastating than a front flip piledriver. That would insult our intelligence as fans.
But WWE doesn't have that kind of tact. FU over the F5. Fuck all.
Kane Knight
01-12-2007, 11:37 PM
The Stroke's been up there on every countdown I've seen. It's not #1, but that's still bullshit.
This is true, it is bullshit, but at least it's not #1, and at least they give props to Petey's Candian Destroyer over the lame ass Stroke.
I can easily think of 5 or 6 finishers currently used by WWE Superstars that didn't even make the list that are far more impressive than the fucking F-U.
ron the dial
01-12-2007, 11:55 PM
In reality, did we expect them to put someone else's finisher over Cena's?

Even TNA's doing it. They're pushing the people they wanted to push. They've always hyped the Canadian Destroyer as badass, so it'll be highly ranked.
KingofOldSchool
01-13-2007, 09:31 AM
I don't see the Canadian Destroyer being that noteworthy. It's more show than anything.
I think the simpler, yet effective moves are much better than ones that require a lot of effort.
Finishers like the Ace Crusher variations (Stunner, Diamond Cutter), The Rude Awakening, The Pediguree, Sweet Chin Music, and even the Tombstone are true great finishing moves.
KingofOldSchool

Great Muta's Moonsault
Sharpshooter

I'd also like to add that the POOOOOOOOUNCE was one of the top rated finishing moves before Brown left TNA.
So I mean, having one useful finisher (KoOS may be right not to like it, but I do, honestly) in your top five hardly vindicates you from having two finishers that make the Worm look deadly...

My favorite is Chris Candido's Blode Bombshell (Modified Superbomb), that move is sicker than the canadian destoryer and the burning hammer.

Liontamer? That weak "Modified Walls of Jericho?"
Vertabreaker? A modified inverted back-to back DDT
