Like every once in a while EVERY video out there is directed by Hype Williams, then he disappears for years.

Then the next year Missy Elliot is in every video and on every track, then she disappears for a few years.

Then Pharrell is producing absolutely everything out there and he seems to turn up in videos too.

Then Kanye West is in and on everything for everyone, he and Pharrell combine and its shit and both disappear for the near future.

Then Hype Williams is directing everything again for a few months or so and how he's gone again and...

Now Timbaland has returned and is producing everything and appearing on everyones track.

Shhhhhhhhutup. This is much like the Stone Cutters: everyone is in on it, but no one talks about it.

My favorite thing about Hype Williams was how he utilized the aspect ratio, which would have otherwise been black lines, by filling it with arbitrary shit vaguely related to the color scheme of the video. There's no such thing as too busy of a screen.

You missed my point: Music isn't art anymore, it's business. Those at the forefront of that business are working together to cycle the same crap to us over and over and keep each other rich.

Are you happy now?

So you're saying Pharrel and Timbaland's production techniques produce the same sound?

Not exactly, though they aren't far off from each other.

What I'm sying is they take turns being the "hot artist" or "hot producer" of the moment and collude to maintain a steady stream of singles going every 1 to 3 years.
