On the back of my DVD to Babel it says: "From acclaimed director Alejandro Gonzales (Amores Perros, 21 Grams) come the third film in his trilogy, Babel, a critically celebrated and emotionally gripping film about the barriers that separate humankind."

Now I'm pretty sure Crash was one of this trilogy (and I could be wrong about that.) But what are the other two movies in this trilogy other than Babel?

Nah Crash isn't apart of the trilogy. The trilogy consists of the other two movies listed on the back of the dvd, Amores Perros and 21 Grams. Amores Perros being my favourite of the three.

aren't trilogies supposed to have recurring characters and common storylines?

Babel is a Golden Globe (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Globe_Award)- and Academy Award (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Academy_Award)-winning 2006 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2006) film (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Film), directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alejandro_Gonz%C3%A1lez_I%C3%B1%C3%A1rritu) and written by Guillermo Arriaga (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillermo_Arriaga). It stars Brad Pitt (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brad_Pitt), Cate Blanchett (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cate_Blanchett), Rinko Kikuchi (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rinko_Kikuchi), Adriana Barraza (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adriana_Barraza), Kôji Yakusho (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/K%C3%B4ji_Yakusho), and Gael García Bernal (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gael_Garc%C3%ADa_Bernal). The multi-narrative drama completes González Iñárritu's "death trilogy," which also consists of Amores Perros (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amores_Perros) and 21 Grams (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/21_Grams).[2] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babel_%28film%29#_note-1)
