So I watched this, given they spent big bucks to advertise it in movie theaters. Using Kurosawa in the ads caught my attention.

2 hours, and they spent 30 seconds talking about Samurai flicks.

How was the rest of the show?

Consisted mostly of celebrities and experts fellating Lucas.

Sounds gay.

Well, they do reference greek plays a lot. You don't get much gayer than the greeks.

That is true. I hear the men like to wrestle naked with each other.

No, I believe that's a saturday night at the stima household.

Does Stima celebrate Festivus?

Stima's not greek?

It was interesting to an extent, but most of what they said could have been done in ike a half an hour. Some of it was simply justifying the new trilogy, which doesn't really deal with any of the history behind it. They go into how it resembles Greek Archetecture, and all sorts of other things, managing to even try and peg Vader as wearing Nazi Garb.

One lady actually pegged the nature of the whole show very well: Did he come up with this, or did I? A lot of the elements they attributed to his understanding of the GReek plays came from Kurosawa.

Sounds like something i would get bored watching after about ten minutes.

In fact in all probability i would't start watching it.

It had Stephen Colbert and Kevin Smith in it.

I enjoyed the shit out of it. But I enjoy the shit out of Star Wars and comparisons of modern work to archetypes, hero journeys and mythology. Most of it is stuff I already knew already, but it was still entertaining.

I might've enjoyed it were it actually substantial, or whether it dealt with what was advertised...You know, the origins of Star Wars.
