Smackdown and Velocity from 2/24 Kansas City taping Spoilers:

Dark Matches:

*Funaki over Mike Bucci

*The World's Greatest Tag Team over two local guys (I couldn't hear their names)

Velocity:

*Tajiri over Paul London

*A-Train over Shannon Moore

*Hardcore Holly and Orlando Jones beat The FBI's Chuck Palumbo and Johnny the Bull

Smackdown!

Smackdown opens with a fatal 4 way with Rey Mysterio, Jamie Noble, Nunzio, and Billy Kidman. The winner gets match at Wrestlemania XX for the Cruiserweight title. They cut to the back room in the middle of match with Eddie Guerrero confronting Paul Heyman (who was talking to Tajiri.) Heyman ends up stopping the match and announcing that there are no Japanese on the program so he's canceling the match and making a "Cruiserweight Open."

*Next up was WWE Tag Team champions Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty vs. The APA in a non-title. The APA win with a clothesline from hell in which Rikishi was injured. They brought out a stretcher but Rikishi ended up walking out on his own.

*WWE champion Eddie Guerrero comes out to a HUGE pop and calls out Kurt Angle. He ends up going backstage to find him after a promo about being drug free. Heyman meets him at Kurt's locker room and Kurt shows up behind some cops. Eddie goes after him and pushes heyman into Dawn Marie. Heyman has Eddie escorted from the building.

*Brock Lesnar vs. Billy Gunn was next. Brock sold heavy throughout this whole match, but got the win with the F-5.

*Torrie Wilson and Sable come out and tease the crowd.

*John Cena joins them wearing a #58 Derrick Thomas Chiefs jersey. He asks them to leave because he needs to concentrate on the tag team match he has scheduled next (Cena and Eddie vs. The Big Show and Chavo Sr. and Jr.) The girls leave and Cena makes a big deal about needing a partner since his was kicked out of the building. He pulls out a cell phone and calls "619". Rey Mysterio comes out.

*Rey Mysterio & John Cena defeat The Big Show and Chavo Guerrero. Rey pins Chavo and then Big Show comes in and cleans house.

*Angle comes out and says he turned on Eddie for the people, for the USA, etc. He says Eddie is a drug addict and not a good representation for the title so he was doing his civic duty. Eddie finally runs in and Kurt bails while Heyman comes out with the cops and arrests him. Smackdown goes off the air with Eddie going to jail. (Mike Bucci, who worked a darm match earlier in the night doubled as cop)

*After they go off the air, Angle comes back out and introduces himself as the next champion and if anyone disagrees they can come out and take their butt-kicking. Out comes Rey Mysterio for the third time tonight and knocks Kurt around a bit for the end of the show.

Notes: Hopefully the guy with the "I LOVE EVIL KURT" sign gets on TV....Most of the upper deck was tarped off.</font>

So Cynick was right about the motivation behind Angle's turn. Nice

man WGTT should be on TV... not in a dark match. I mean they have A-Train on TV.

Its a little odd that WGTT didn't get on the show, but for where they are going, the booking made sense. You got the tag champs, and they lost a non-title match to APA, so logic says APA are the #1 contenders. However, WGTT beat APA at the last PPV, so if APA is #1 contenders, then they should be #1 as well. Then you have the Bashams (who did a run-in in the match on SD), well they never really got beat for their tag titles (Shaniqua did), and on top of that the usual rule is that the former champs are guaranteed a rematch for the titles they lost. So what does this all mean? A 4 way dance at Mania.

I dont know if anyone else read this, but the CW Open will be followed by Chavo defending his CW title against whoever wins the "Battle Royal". So, in otherwords we get two CW matches at Mania (whudathunkit?). I like that idea though, hopefully they put over someone new in the battle royal instead of having Rey win, which is too obvious.

Rest of the show seems to do the job. Now, the SD matches are pretty much all booked (4 title matches plus Battle Royal), os its just a matter of building more heat for the matches. Nice to hear Eddie was over big in a non Hispanic market.

Definitely sounds like a great plan right now. All four titles being defended is always a great thing. That makes four plus one matches, for five. You have Goldberg vs Lesnar and Undertaker vs Kane and the Girls Match, so that's three more, for a total of eight matches booked. On Raw, you'll see Triple H vs Benoit vs HBK, Orton and Batista vs Rock and Foley, and probably the tag belts defended. That's eleven matches on the card!

And to think that last year, we were expected like five "legends matches." :D

Enough with the arrest angles!!! Jeezus, that's got to be, like, the 39th time they've run that damn storyline since 1998. I can't think of one top-level face who hasn't gone through that stupid angle now.

Other than that, I'm digging the Eddie/Angle feud, and the show as a whole sounds pretty good.

O.....K WTF, I was just watching Smackdown and they totally cut out part of Cena's rap. He was doing his sh** and all of a sudden they cut to a Rey Mysterio entrance. I mean COME ON. I wonder what he said because it was probably something really offensive.

By the Way, Does anyone else think that Chavo's Theme/Eddie's WCW Theme Owns All?

I'll probably get flamed for this, but is anybody starting to slowly get sick of Cena as a face? He's just too namby pamby babyface now. He needs to stop smiling so much. Also, his raps. He overexaggerates the pronunciation of words, and he comes off sounding and looking like the Fresh Prince of Bel Air now. He needs to get back to being more thuggish. What's next for him? Kissing babies and helping old ladies cross the street?

I'm absolutely loving Eddie's title reign so far. Angle did a great job of selling the Mania match. I know the CyNick said that he thought this match would get buried, but wow how wrong he was. It seemed like the whole show revolved around Eddie/Angle, which is great.

Yeah your right about Cena. I absolutely loved the guy as a heel, but lately he is kind of annoying with his baby face persona. They should of let him be a tweener and not cater to the fans so much because his "thug" character would make more sense that way.

I think the best John Cena ever was when he was giving those promos about Brock and in one of them he had a taser gun in his hand, or was it a blowtorch. Anyway, he looked bad ass in those promos. He needs to go back to that. Hey, does anybody know where I can get those videos?

Now I think it sucks, but my feelings are hurt as well. Two wrongs don't make a right, Corky.
