Something I've never understood.

With the rosters busting at the seams and ECW only having one hour a week:

Why is Heat just a RAW recap show?

Surely they could do so much more with another hour of TV time? Why have crappy jobber matches when you can use it to have matches that build towards fueds in RAW or smackdown? Why not use it to give ECW a second hour of TV? Why not use it to have lowercard fueds?

I just don't get what the whole point of the show is? It just seems like such a waste of an hour of potential programming?

I think it is in the UK. It must just be a highlight show for the UK, we have a few I think. They all suck.

This topic is now pointless.

Why are you reading this

I think the only reason they still have it running is because some countries/stations have a contract that hasn't run out yet. I would imagine that ECW just took the place of Velocity.

Remember when heat fist came on, and they were treating it like it was going to be great?

They did do pretty well for the first year or so. I mean, it was the shit show but it was fairly decent.

They still show Heat on the net at WWE.com. I was actually just watching some episodes yesterday. It's only the Raw roster, though. Some pretty good matches. They've got Heat archives dating back a couple years. Definitely worth a look.

I remember when Rock, Austin and McMahon were having segments on HeAT back in late 98 early 99 or so. Good HeAT memories. The last time I recall giving a shit about HeAT was sometime in early 2000 when the New Age Outlaws were cutting some promo and Road Dogg was talking about looking into his crystal balls or something...eh...

The last meaningful episode of HeAT that I seen was Christian trying to lose weight in Kurt Angle's chicken suit.

Correct.

The reason it's a Raw Recap show is that it's no longer on air in their primary market. I.E., they actually give less of a shit about it now than they did when it was on air and watched by 12 people.

They still produce Heat for their website, though, so it could be used more appropriately than a RAW recap show. Just have an hour of solid wrestling, with guys from all three brands if you need to.

Great. It’s always good to know that Heat has become the equivalent of The WWE Experience, Afterburn, BottomLine and WWE A.M. RAW, all rolled into one, neat tidy package. I can only imagine what they’d do to Velocity if that was still on the air...

Heat memories:

Just Joe - he had quite a few of his segments on that which at the time seemed to be leading somewhere

Mean Street Posse - There was a period of a few weeks where it seemed like Heat was all about the Mean Street Posse which was good to see the focus on someone else

Harcore Holly challenging Triple A - Triple H was champ at the time and Hardcore Holly ran into him backstage. Holly said something to the effect of he could take Triple H and would do it on Heat and the title didn't have to be on line.

Heat would throw some decent segments/matches every now and then.

I still think Heat could be more than it is now. Occasionally give them a main eventer, or a big match. It might get traffic to WWE.com, and who knows, the show could end up televised again.

Remember when Raven made Heat "his own personal playground" and there was something he was supposed to reveal, but then he got fired? That was awesome.

I remember X-pac and Kane getting together for the first time on Heat.

Another episode where Austin took out the entire Ministry.

Heat was the best when it was live from WWF NY!

Heat was the best when it was live from WWF NY!

It was... they would have a special guest every week... it was like the Muppet Show... you'd have the matches... but then they would have segments with the guest at WWF New York doing stuff... and they had their own little supporting characters who always appeared and stuff...

Kaientai episode was the best.

I'd love to see Heat turned into a "WWE.com production," which puts it in Joey Styles' jurisdiction. He becomes sort of a "GM/Host," and puts together a show "the fans want to see." He can show classic matches from the past, maybe include new commentary tracks for them done by himself and Josh Mathews (which would just be an awesome commentary team), and they can have taped matches specifically for the show, and feature some main event promos.

Joey Styles being in charge of Heat would actually be a very good storyline, I think.

Sunday Night Heat...

Styles: HELLO AND WELCOME TO SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT! We have a HELL of a main event, with Val Venis taking on Snitsky for the Heat Stroke championship!

Michael Cole: Of course, last week on Heat Val renamed the WWE Internet Championship the "Stroke" championship. That porn star and his witty puns!
