View Full Version : Is there anything that can save wrestling?

Anything? It's like the worst it's ever been right now. :(

Orton taking the title off Cena would be a good start.

It's really not that bad right now, but to answer your question, perhaps a Santino Marella title win.

Tivo and DVR can save wrestling on to their hard drives.

But as far as something saving the quality of the product, no, no there is nothing.

it's not as bad as 1995-1996 or 2002-2003, but there's a lot that sucks. Having 3 shows is always going to be a killer for me personally. They really need a good 6 month plus storyline though that has been missing for a while.

Yeh, overexposure is a big part of it, but even then, it's generally still far better than the days of Mantaur and The Yeti.

End the brand split (except ECW). Have Raw and Smackdown on the same track, it could make storylines more cohesive and more enjoyable.

Santino Marella as GM of Raw. Of course Armando and Teddy will stay as GMs of Smackdown! and ECW. Their bickering will be hilarious between now and til Survivor Series.

Orton taking the belt off Cena and that will be the straw that breaks the wigger's back. Cena will be in a dark place and will speak less with words but more with actions.

I'd like to see 3 teams contend for the tag championships instead of just 2.

Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Hornswoggle = The new DX Hornswoggle wears green all the time anyways.

I'm pretty sure that if Nunzio won the WWE Title, everything would turn around for WWE.

More penises will save wrestling. Nothing but penises raining from the sky during every match. That would save it, or just make it into gay porn. Hmmmm, guess i didn't really think that one through.

First of all, reuniting the rosters...

Second of all, clearing out some of the older talent and letting guys like Booker T and Ric Flair walk away...

Release guys like Great Khali, Batista, Chris Masters, John Morrison, Snitsky, Viscera, Mike Knox, Balls Mahoney, Hacksaw Jim Duggan (keep as an agent) and another 50% of the roster full of useless guys...

Keep the guys capable of performing and keep them to showcase them on ONE brand, the WWE brand...

Then bring back some stables... Make the characters interesting again...

Re-sign Chris Jericho...

Push main event faces Lashley and Jericho hard... Keep HHH, HBK and Taker and you've got some big money guys...

Then for the main event heels, with established guys like Cena, Orton, Edge, MVP, Kennedy and Umaga, you can actually have some interesting programming...

Tons of big names and interesting characters...

Re-form alliances... Bring back good interviews and promos, phase out a lot of the stupid comedy they have now...

Change the way matches happen... The whole punch-punch-kick-clothesline-punch-kick matches that 95% of the roster seems to deliver are not doing anything positive... Let guys have unique styles... Don't make the wrestlers hold back so much... Let them have longer matches and more opportunity to showcase new moves and put on fluid matches with chemistry...

And last but not least, long-term booking plans... You can't push someone for two weeks only to bury him the third week with no long-term idea of where you want to go with the character... This is how WWE handles all of their booking, which makes it so shifty and disastrous...

If Umaga is on a role, you need to have a legitimate pay-off main event feud... And with all these legendary superstars and established newer stars, it will make for great competition and a lot of room to have younger guys put over and established... The Umaga-Cena feud was not a good way to slow down a young star after such a long push...

Also, I would make title shots a lot more realistic... Instead of having the IC champion defending the title against Stevie Richards before a promoted PPV match against someone, you can actually make a title shot a big thing... This makes for a lot of interesting #1 contender's matches and also brings a lot of credibility to the title... Wrestlers would have to work their way up the roster... After a certain amount of wins, they are qualified to challenge for a certain championship... No more Mysterio World Title matches because you have to make people stick to their weight class to some extent... A 210 pounder, for example, may eventually challenge for the World Title if he wins enough matches and is on a major role... But it simply does not make any sense to have a random Shannon Moore-MVP US Title match...

Wrestling must hence become a lot more unpredictable and the whole anything-could-happen without seeming incredibly stupid can come back... Wrestling now is not interesting, there are no surprises...

WWE should occasionally showcase a Japanese or Mexican tag-team to challenge for the tag titles or something of that nature, similar to the Liger-Joe match they did in TNA, except with better execution... They should have a lot more surprise and special appearances from certain legends to add spice to the storylines and bring back the whole "I can't miss RAW or Nitro this week" feeling...

Less house shows, smaller arenas, release Khali, no ECW house shows at all, let ECW go be classic ECW, bring back RVD, either release Big Daddy V or put a shirt on him, make a tag team with Kevin Thorn and Boogeyman, reform the rosters but keep ECW seperate, bring back Paul Heyman to run ECW, bring back Eric Bischoff to run RAW and Smackdown, get Stephanie Mcmahon off the creative staff, in fact get her out of the WWE all together, bring back Jim Cornette,

Then again these are the people who have given Prison Break a 3rd season.*shutters*

I made it up. I wanted to say "Who wants to marry a porn star?" Butthey probably did that.

It's still be a step up from Raw, though.

Surf music could totally save WWE. Seriously. The next time you're watching the Great Khali stink up the ring, play the theme song to 'Hawaii Five-O' in the background and tell me it isn't a hundred times more entertaining.

Vince McMahon, John Cena, and Triple H all get into a giant hamster ball thing and roll off a cliff into the ocean, where they will remain forever. That might not save wrestling, but it would help.
