Keep in mind it's speculation based on a filed claim, so likely nothing, but it's interesting.

This would be cool. I loved the DC.

I doubt they're up for a 4way battle for market dominance.

Dreamcast was so underrated, I loved it.

As much as I would love to see the Dreamcast come back, this quote from the article pretty sums up all my doubts

For one thing, Sega's software offerings haven't been all that stellar lately, in case you hadn't noticed.

No Dreamcast 2. It was just a renewal of the brand.

Yeah, of course, that's what we knew the file identity was in the first place.

However, they've added features to the original application, which is qhat stirred the speculation. Also, Sega saying that they have no plans is about as reliable as Microsoft's denial of the Falcon.

I really enjoyed the Dreamcast myself, but Sega is now making pretty good third party games.

I think VC's on the ball here, really.

Sega's been pretty crappy of late.

Since the rumor is that Skies of Arcadia's seeing a sequel, I'm PRAYING they don't fuck it up. But the quality of the games is lackluster of late. As nice as a new DC system would be, I can't see them selling primarily because of their current software.
