Why do refs still tell someone going to the top rope to "get back in the ring!" Shouldn't they just accept the fact that there is around 50 years of precedent for wrestlers going to the top rope legally, and that there is no really no grounds for disqualification for attempting a high risk maneuver?

Has anyone ever gotten disqualification for pushing someone against the ropes? If you think harder than a 6 year old you can tell that the ref's really have no reason being there. Kerwin White?

I like how in Fire Pro you get DQ'ed if you are on the top rope for longer than 5 seconds.

Fact: there are midgets in pro wrestling.

Fact: midgets have trouble climbing to the top rope.

Fact: Rey Mysterio could sit on the top rope and keep Hornswoggle away from him for minutes on end, making the match pass the time limit, retaining the Cruiserweight Title. The seemingly pointless admonishment rule in pro wrestling does have a purpose...

I mean I'm okay with a count, I just think it's stupid when the refs don't start a count but just yell, "Get back in the ring!!" What's the point? Is the guy gonna reconsider?

One of the few "cute" moments in professional wrestling I can remember witnessing, involved a referee admonishing Funaki for climbing the top rope at Armageddon 2004 in his match against Spike Dudley for the Cruiserweight Title. I don't know, it was just cute to see Funaki completely disobeying the referee as he said in a stern voice "Funaki, no." I believe he hit a sick "Warrior's Way" type double stomp move on Dudley after that, which makes Funaki even cooler.

Actually, I really miss Funaki. If the WWE brought him back without the SmackDown! tights (he hasn't been SmackDown!'s #1 Announcer in some time, I think we can move past it), and maybe changed his colour scheme a bit, to help us forget about his jobber status, he could be a damn solid cruiserweight.

They should bring him in to form a tag team with Jimmy Wang Yang. Give him a matching name, something like Ching Chang Eastwood.
