Cause everyone is claiming that title these days.

I'd really have to nominate Christian. He was in the TIT Invitational Finals Ladder Match, The Triangle Ladder Match, TLC 1, TLC 2, TLC 3, TLC 4 whilst also having some pretty cool Ladder Matches with Edge, Chris Jericho and Rob Van Dam (I believe). He also put over Kaz in a recent Ladder Match, and he was in a Money in the Bank or two, and probably a King of the Mountain Match, as well.

Shawn Michaels is an innovator of the match, but really, how many great ladder matches has he been a part of? There were his two against Razor Ramon, and I think he jobbed to Triple H in a 3 Stages of Hell Match, with the last stipulation involving a ladder. He also had the first ladder match against Bret Hart.

Jeff Hardy is another guy, but he mainly falls off the ladders, and doesn't really win enough to be granted that title. I mean, he has been winning a few recent ones for the IC Title, but still. The guy also had most of his ladder matches planned by his brother, and the guys he was working with.

Chris Jericho is worth an odd mention, too. I just really loved his Ladder Match for the IC Title at the 2001 Royal Rumble. One of my favourite matches ever. He's also been in some cool ladder matches, although probably not enough to warrant him the "king" title.

God, 'Noid can you just answer with one sentence?

Christian. I don't think he's won a one on one ladder match, but every ladder match he's been in has been great.

God, 'Noid can you just answer with one sentence?

Can you look for the distinguishing nouns? Can you read the first sentence? It gives you my answer, and it tells you why. My vote was cast for Christian.

By the way, doing some research, Christian Cage managed to retain the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in a Ladder Match against Abyss. So there is one singles win for the guy.

Was it a TNA barbed wire hypercolour match that was finally announced 33 seconds before ring time?

If you had to actually pick one, I'd say Edge.

Jeff Hardy may be the star of it, because of all the big spots.

Michaels is the innovator I guess

But Edge is "the king" if there is one, because he won just about all of them with E&C, and has won various singles ladder matches.
He's also won the MITB, and won and multiple times defended the WWE title in a ladder match. Jeff has never been "king" of the ladder match on this level.

But I think you could make an argument that it "belongs" to Jeff more, or that he's more synonymous with it.

E & C and the Hardys share the title. The 4 of them. End of story.

Jeff tends to have the title more, but ladder matches always make me think of Edge.

I'm kinda...well actaully I'm not suprised, but no one mention Jeff Jarrett. He always wins king of the mountain which is a backward assed ladder match.

TNA has a ladder match every week. Way to make it a "specialty" match. They're also usually mediocre to flat out bad, and get about 5 minutes.

I haven't seen a single ladder match in TNA even hold a candle to the worst of WWF/E's ladder match offerings over the years. Let alone their best.

Christian Cage vs Kaz was actually really good.

Yea dude, I saw that live. I thought it was very subpar. It had like one or two decent spots.

Another thing I hate about TNA is how often they have ladder matches and the things they're for.

Not to change topic too much but if you want a good spotfest ladder match go for Jerry Lynn vs. AJ Styles vs. Low Ki it was on an early TNA weekly PPV.

Damn entertainig match with quite a few spots I had never seen before.

If you really want to get historic, Bret hart was the one that pitched the idea of a Ladder match to Vince Mcmahon upon his coming to the WWF, thus setting up the very first in the WWF between Hart and Michaels for the Intercontinental Championship...Hart won. This stemmed from his Ladder Match in Stampede Wrestling with Bad News Brown circa July '83.

There's also an account of the very first ever held Ladder match in 1972, in which the winner was to grab a briefcase full of cash.

Christian is my choice for the King of Ladder matches, though.

Edge and Christian are a tie for me.

Edge may have won more of them, but Christian always puts on a great performance in the ladder match. His against Edge at No Mercy 2001 was amazing.

E & C, Hardys and the Dudleys right thurr is how a ladder match is done, Jeff Jarret.... why bother with a comment to that, it sells itself
