View Full Version : Equivalence...
What current stars are the modern day equivalent to past stars? And no, I don't mean they're equal to them in their primes, just relatively according to gimmick/status/style.
Cena = Hogan
Khali = Giant Gonzales
Continue.

So I guess the Rock was never a mid-carder that was great on the mic.
I'm not saying that MVP will be a top babyface that's starring in movies. I'm just stating that MVP as a mid-carder is very similar to how the Rock was as a mid-carder.

I was never really around in past eras, but how's Batista = Lex Luger?
To my understanding, Luger really rose in the WWE because they were without Hogan? Batista was made a top star because they didn't have their old ones. They're both bigger men, and Batista had that drawing spot in the 2005 Royal Rumble, something Luger had before him.

In my opinion, Jamie Noble is getting very close to becoming similar to Dean Malenko, back when he was a face challenging Chris Jericho for the WCW Cruiserweight Championship. Noble and Malenko have very similar styles (Malenko trained Noble, I believe), but you also have Jamie Noble climbing the roster as a babyface cruiserweight that the fans care about. Together, these points add up to a comparison, in my eyes.

MVP is fairly like Nation of Domination Rock, I'd give you that.

There's two problems with that theory
1. Vince hates Cruiserweights. This also explains why the last cw champ was a midget.
2. (see reason one)

Plus Dean Malenko never had mic skills or charisma

Malenko has charisma, in my opinion. Maybe not mic skills, so much, but charisma.

'The Ice Man' is not the gimmick you give to someone who has charisma
It's the gimmick you give to a man with no charisma, who can wrestle, he was a good hand, that's it, IMO

It's also the gimmick you give to someone that's supposed to say "he could have charisma, he simply chooses not to."

So for his entire career, he chose to have no charisma, ok then :y:
