- According to a reader report posted on the PWInsider.com pro wrestling website, WWE is now charging sports bars and clubs by the square foot to show their pay-per-view events. One bar owner in the Houston, Texas area said that to show a WWE pay-per-view it would cost in excess of $5,000. As a result, many sports bars no longer carry WWE pay-per-view events. In comparison, UFC charges sports bars less than $1,000 to show an event and as a result, they are carried in almost every major sports bar.

Yeah, I was wondering why alot of Sports bars around here don't carry WWE events. I mean, except for the Casino/Saratoga Harness Track right here in town. I guess things got rather raucus there when Cena won.

In this case, raucus describes a heated confrontation between the 3 Cena fans in attendance and the people trying to get drunk without 3 guys screaming like girls in the background. I wish I'd been there to witness this myself, but I totally forgot about the Rumble even being on. :(

There was a time I'd be jealous of your Sports Bars showing WWE PPV, but recently...

I think I'd rather see UFC anyway.

Though I'd actually PAY to see UFC, so....

The casino I go to shows Raw, Smackdown and PPVs. Its ideal because you can just sit in the bar and have a meal while its on. Then lose money you would have spent on the ppv anyway....

Bad move for getting your product out there, dum as fuck in fact.

I can only assume they are hoping people will buy it themselves if they can't watch it at a bar....they won't.

If TNA were smart they could send out feelers to get bars to play their shit for an inexpensive price.

It's like they're doing everything to prevent themselves from being seen by a broader audience.

They used to cost alot less when I worked at bar, and all the regulars would watch WWE and started to like it.

Just another way to lose customers....how is this suppose to help? They are scrapign to make every dollar they can.
