He was more of an Anti-hero than the typical do gooder face and people liked that about him but once he turned genuine heel it was something special so I would have to say he was a pretty good face but an even greater heel.

Heel. Hollywood Rock was the man. Including that great heel theme music that kept you waiting.

Heel. He's just allowed to be much more creative when he's a heel, because he's not confined to saying ALL of his catchphrases every time.

The most hated pro-wrestler ever circa 1997 and 1998.

I think I'll go with heel.

Have you ever heard another wrestler get the fans to chant for his death. The reactions the guy would get were unbelieveable.

The shit he did with the nation was amazing and his heel turn in 2003 was fantasitic.

Rock was at his best as a heel. You literally hated the guy.

I really don't have much else to add except:

Die, Rocky, die.

I never got to see Hollywood Rock in 2003. I went back and watched some promos last night and his heelness was on a different level than in the late 90s. Even though he still used the same trademarks, the way he spoke, the way he looked, and the way he acted were different than previous Rock's. It was awesome. Listen to Sacramento booing him when he sings "Leaving Sacramento".

pure awesomeness.

I much preferred Rock as a heel, especially his last heel run.

I hated Rock for the majority of his face run. Thought his jokes were never funny and dumb.
