p.s. has anyone played Paper Mario(Wii)?? Is it worth buying??

Paper mario is pretty fun, but i'd look for it used, as its not really worth full price.

Good Gamecube games include:
Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker
Both Metroid Prime games
Mario Sunshine
Custom Robo
Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
Mario Kart Double Dash
WWE Day of Reckoning

Those are the games I have. All are really good.

Day of Reckoning 2 is great also, IF you don’t mind super-slow load times.

I only have a couple of Gamecube games, but I've enjoyed Paper Mario and Killer 7.

As for Wii, I've enjoyed:

Geometry Wars
No More Heroes
Super Mario Galaxy

Super Paper Mario was really fun, but it's not for everyone. I think most people will only play through it once.

And that lame ass submission/fatigue system.

Rogue Squadrons 2 and 3 are good (2 is better)

Well, for Wii, I recommend Mario Galaxy of course, Metroid Prime 3, No More Heroes, and Smash Bros Brawl coming up. Resident Evil 4 is also a given, for Gamecube or Wii (though I prefer this version more as there's more content).

For 'Cube, one that wasn't mentioned that I thought was good: Hulk Ultimate Destruction. Nothing says fun like destroying everything.

As for Super Paper Mario, I own it and I enjoy it as well. Problem with that is the characters talk WAY too much, even for an sorta RPG. After that, the action and the humor along with Mario's ability to go 3D make it great. As said before though, it may not be everyone's cup of tea.

For the Wii, Super Mario Galaxy is pretty damn good.

With SSB:B coming out on Wii soon, I’m surprised nobody has suggested Super Smash Bros. Melee on GCN. It’s a huge step up from the original Super Smash Bros. on N64.

This is prolly a stupid question but do I need a GC controller to play GC games??

Yeah. Not that it's a stupid question, but that you need a GC controller to play GC games. If you can get a Wavebird, do it. It's one of the most awesome wireless controllers EVER.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem

Yo know the sad thing? I bought this game two years ago (I'm a huge Lovecraft fan, and I was told this was very much in the same vein as the Cthulhu Mythos), and I still haven't played it.

If I start DLing NES games on there, I can use the Wiimote though, right??

You can use the Wiimote for NES games, as well as the GCN controller and the Classic Controller (which has to be booked up to the Wiimote anyway, but...).

Downloads on the Wii VC store will tell you which controllers are usable.

I usually use the CC just because it feels comfortable to me.

Good GC games that I own:

Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones:y:

Paper Mario: If you're into this type of game, then :y:

Sonic DX: Meh...I liked it on the Dreamcast...

LoZ - Twilight Princess: :y: and then some, truly a great game.

Super Mario Sunshine: :y:

TY, the Tazmanian Tiger: $5 deal and worth exactly that. :n:

Days of Reckoning 1 & 2: Both very good. Graphically, 2 is much better than 1. But, 2 has a few annoying quirks about it.

Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem: Pretty good, if you like this sort of game.

For Wii, I have Super Mario Galaxy...which is nothing short of amazing.

Pretty sure Luigi's Mansion is jawsome and I have 2 wave birds but I'm hesitant to use them cos all wireless controllers I've used eat batteries like woah.

It makes no sense to me.. I mean the Wii has enough memory that I haven't had to buy a memory card yet.. Why is it not backward compatible??

I used to hate the Windwaker but now upon replaying it, it's pretty good.. I still don't like the musical noises when you kill bad guys but whatever.. I used to hate the graphics, which I can see why I did at the time, but since I've played Twilight Princess like 4 times, my OoT cravings have been filled.. Unlike when Windwaker frist came out because I never liked Majori's Mask so it had been a while scine I had that same feeling I got playing OoT..

yeah..

Destor
03-29-2008, 04:22 AM
Majora's Mask is the shit. I'm currently playing Adventures of Link. Never been able to get into it until now, not to bad if you can give it a chance.
