Sorry for the delay folks. But we are back in business. We had one hell of a match last time as we saw Chris Jericho, a man many thought was sure fire going to our first inductee into the Better Wrestler Hall of Fame was dethroned by our new champion Eddie Guerrero. Hats off to Jericho though. He did make it further than any competitor has so far and he didn't loose by much. A meer two votes. We'll see if this one is as interesting. Today's match:

Dunno. As requested Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat is today's competitor. Lets see how much support he has. three days as always.

To me this is a no contest. Steamboat was easily one of the finest wrestlers of all time between the bells. Very few can work a match at his level. But lets face, he didn't work heel, he was only half the pakage. Eddie was versitile. Worked both ways and found sucess in both. And its not like Eddie is a slouch in the ring either. He might not be AS good as Steamboat was, but he's was in his league. To me (and I imagine most of you) this is a no brainer.

I voted Eddie for the simple reason (as Des stated) Steamboat was never a heel. Eddie could work both heel and face almost flawlessly.

I hate the argument that Steamboat can't be the complete package because he was never a heel.

I never saw a prerequisite requiring wrestlers to spend time as a face and a heel in order to be considered as one of the greats.

Part of being complete is encompassing everything KoOS. He is great. But when compared to other great he's always going to have that thrown in his face.

Why need something irrelevant as a heel run when someone is waaaay too good as a babyface?

For example, Sting could have done without that lame heel turn in 1999, like wise with Goldberg in 2000.

If they had never never had those heel runs would you not consider them one of the all time greats? Some people are just so natural at being a heel or a face, that why turn them just to be doing it?

Steamboat worked heel, badly. Thats the difference though. Does a guy need to have an uneccisary heel run to be great? Nah. But he needs to be able to work both ways. Imagine Steamboat in this day in age. imagine he gets on top of the company as the biggest baby face in the history of ever. He's stil going to get stale. And a heel turn could completely reinvigorate him and double his logevity. Look at hogan. You've gotta be able to go both ways. All the other great did. It's kinda a standerd.

there's a reason Steamboat STAYED face. he wasn't always one though.

I don't recall Steamboat ever working heel, unless it was when he was just coming up in some Indy type promotion back then. He would have been green anyway, so if he actually did have a heel run, you can't make a case based on that.

I'm going to look at who drew more money while on top. I'm going to give Steamboat the edge there.

But Eddie is one of the greatest of all-time, so I'm not downplaying his accomplishments at all.

I think as far as personality and chracter goes, Eddie is a top 5 in that department. It's almost a draw here, but I hate ties

Steamboat because he's a God. I can't not vote for him because his late 80's work is better than anything Eddie ever did in my eyes, including Japan.

Eddie. I'd give it to Steamboat just about based purely on in ring ability but Eddie was better on the stick, more charismatic and the more versatile of the two. That's not to say Steamboat was a poor promo guy or had no charisma but I don't think he matches Eddie in an overall comparison

Well like KK said, I'll reiterate by saying Eddie is more of my generation.

He is def one of the all time greats. You can't think of total package wrestlers and not think Eddie.

For Steamboat, I have not seen many of his matches but the ones I did see he was face, so I can't really comment on the whole face heel argument, but I did enjoy his work very much and respect him for how talented he is. Best arm drags, no doubt.

But this one I'm taking Eddie.

He toured Canada in '78 I think (some time around then) as heel. As far as who I'm going by, it all hear say as I was only 1-ish at the time. But it's from people I've spoken to in person who where around at the time. From everything I've heard he's was a natural face, but had no place being a heel. He couldn't work it.

you have to asume for the same reason he couldn't cut a promo, he could only be himself. He couldn't expand into the character Ricky Steamboat. It was just a reflection of himself. Making him one dimensional.

But as too the comments that he had no charisma: my fucking ass. Extremely charismatic guy.

What I've seen of Steamboat has really impressed me, but unfortunately I haven't seen much.

Also Eddie was simply amazing anyway... that match above my sig was great fun and very well done.

I voted for Draw as I cant honestly pick one over the other here. They were both awesome in their time and at what they did, in all aspects that are important to a wrestler, they both excelled imo...so I'm going to say draw.

I'd say Steamboat was a better wrestler, but Eddie entertained me more with his personality. He was also no slouch in the ring. Thus I too must give the nod to Eddie here.
