Shall be in San Diego from 1st of June to 28th of August so what sports are in season and who plays nearby thats worth seeing. No real interest in any of it yet but while there wouldn't be against a baseball, American football, basketball or ice hockey game or two. Or is Ice Hockey a no go in california?

Anyways what teams are about, are they decent, what kinds price for tickets?

California has 3 hockey teams, but there's no hockey from June-August, save maybe some pre-season games. Baseball is probably your best bet, (association) football is a summer sport over there, too.

MLS has San Jose Earthquakes, Chivas USA and obviously the LA Galaxy. California Victory, based in San Fransisco play in the United Soccer Leagues, a bit like The Football League with no direct promotion to MLS.

San Diego Padres. They got a new stadium a few years ago, it is probably pretty nice, go on a night when Jake Peavy pitches

There should be some pre-season NFL games on then. Should go see the Chargers and LT

San Jose and San Francisco are about 7 hours away from San Diego so that's probably not the best idea. Los Angeles and Carson (where Chivas USA play) are about 2 hours from San Diego so if you really want to watch soccer those are your best bets.

San Diego has a professional soccer team that plays in the National Premier Soccer League which is like the fourth tier league of American soccer so I don't know if it's even worth your time.

LA Galaxy could be a giggle. Also how long is your average baseball game?

3 hours. San Diego has a really nice ballpark so if you get bored you can always explore the stadium.

I would say go see the Padres just to get a fell for what American Sports Venues are like, their stadium is one of the best I have been to.

I agree, go to a Padres game and explore Petco Park when you get bored after the first 20 mins.
