View Full Version : Better wrestler format question

K, people have been complaining about the "draw" option so I'm going to put it to a vote.If more than 90% (thats at least 91%) say to get rid of the draw option it will be gone forever. I will also take it out of the sitories so it doesn't look so weird.

(Also vote Destor and BDC in King of the Forum [link found in sig.])

Gotta go with scrapping it. Mostly because I love the idea that we're HAVING to say one wrestler is better than the other, eliminating the option of a draw might be the difference maker in closer matchups.

Who has voted keep it. I think votes that aren't backed up with posts, should be discarded. Since the people who vote for it to stay, are too shy to admit it because IT'S POINTLESS!!!!

It would be ironic if draw got the most votes.

Also, don't vote for Destor in King of the Forum.

Theo Dious

Get rid of it. If anyone really thinks it's a tie, they can refrain from voting, then express their feelings in the thread itself so we can all know what a tool they are. :shifty:

The Optimist

Sometimes two wrestlers are equally badass. I've voted for ties before because I honestly wasn't able to decide. I expect the option to get tossed, if that makes anyone feel better about me being a bag of turds.

If you can't decide which wrestler out of 2 you prefer, you are going to have a tough time with the decisions involved in adulthood.

I hear testicles are quite reasonably priced, on eBay.

Yes, I can't make a decision between which two wrestlers I like better in an extremely casual discussion. Clearly, I'm fucked for life.

There's no draw option on Keep or Flush, son.

Fabien Barthez

And that ISN'T extremely casual.

The Optimist

Yeah, which means I care more. A decision is more crucial. On TPWW, I'm dicking around about wrestling over the internet with dozens of other jerks, which is sort of fun in a raking my face over broken glass way, but not monstrously important.

I don't feel as if the draw is in concept, a wasted vote.

In my opinion, if one really does think that two wrestlers are practical equals in their eyes (which doesnt occur often), then they should cast a vote for the draw because if they actually think two wrestlers are equal and they vote for one over the other...that's a wasted vote because it does not represent their true opinion.

Of course, the draw often comes under fire because a lot of people dont want to pick it because they want to help one or the other party win. That doesnt make sense, this is not an election, but more of a survey of people's opinions. I would rather refrain from voting than vote for one choice if I really do see two wrestlers as being equals because if I pick one over the other, I would be lying and the vote would have no value.

In fact, I think it is this notion that "draw" is not going to win that prevents some people from choosing what they really think and going with a vote that they are not truly 100% behind. It's the same issue in politics, people abstain from voting on marginalized candidates because they assume that those candidates can't win and thus end up voting for the lesser of two evils...a true downfall of the system in my eyes.

If you can't decide who to vote for, there is an option that's not fucking stupid.

DON'T VOTE.

A vote of Draw is a vote of Not Voting. It's fucking unintelligent to have "Not Voting" as an option to vote. It's that fucking simple.

No its not. Its a vote to recognize that two individuals are seen as equals by the majority of the voters.

That's not the point. It doesn't help the poll. There'fore, it's not voting for the superior. After all, "Better Wrestler" means "Better Wrestler". THeir equality does not enter into the concept.

There is nothing that says "which wrestler is better?" cannot be answered that the two wrestlers are equal. This is not a mathematical question or a scientific one, where, yeah, if someone asks which number is bigger, one cannot say that the two are equal if they are not.

The third option allows the poll to accurately gauge the people's opinions on two wrestlers. Removing it would make the polls flawed, as it would persuade people to vote against their true opinion and will make the resulting statistics less meaningful. 2 for wrestler A, 5 for wrestler B and 1 for Draw is more meaningful in gauging the people's opinions than just 2 for wrestler A and 6 for wrestler B.

And you still aren't absorbing my posts. There is no need for an "IDK" vote. If you can't decide or don't feel that either individual is superior, then abstain from the poll. Why is that not functional to you? There are plenty of polls in which I have not participated because, seeing the two as equal, I was not able to vote. But voting "draw" is a waste of time and simply useless in the long run. The poll is not about being indecisive or celebrating those who want it known that they like both men. The poll is to find the GENERAL feeling of the superior performer. And a vote of "meh" is not a vote for superiority.

I dont feel that a vote for Draw is a vote for "meh" or "I dont know". Its a vote for the recognition of the two performers as being equals and sometimes, there are people who should be recognized as equals in their field.
