Super Mario 3 had more depth than world except for multiple paths and shortcuts through the game

SMW was FAR FAR too easy and anyone who could finish SMB3 could finish SMW in a day

How did it have more depth?

But SMW had that calypso style steel drum retro theme.

Variety of costumes and powers perhaps? Mario world only had a few :(

Never had SNES. So I voted SMB. Can't go wrong with the original, although 3 comes in a close second.

Well, SMW had Yoshi and hidden blocks you had to find to access other areas.

The colored ones that made the broken up lines into blocks.

Sm3 only had three extra suits.

Super Mario World. Was just better I guess.

Super Mario Bros. 3 was definitely the best.

WTF. The original game ruled. Not to mention the fact it tagged with Duck Hunt. It > Every Mario game after.

Super Mario 3 is the best Mario game I've played, though the original with the Duck Hunt is quite the shit.

I had a hard time deciding between SMB3, SMW and SM64.

:y: Duck Hunt ruled.

Word. As long as you made it challenging by stepping more than a foot away from the screen. That always bothered me when my friends would get right up to it. But I admit, I was guilty of it from time to time. :shifty:

Super Mario World. But IMO, it's really hard to choose a favourite.

Youshi's Island is like th only one I hate.

Super Mario World hands down. Still had the classic Mario gameplay, but with cooler graphics, and Yoshi.

Ah well, the game's under-rated, it could use some credibility

My actual vote would have to go to Mario 64 though

what the hell?

Super Mario World has better game play

ie. better use of objects (throwing shell/springboard) up and placing them anywhere!

plus a better map layout. mario 3 is crap, even if it did take awhile to pass, i vote by gameplay not how long the game is.

Yeah, when my friends laughed at me for missing a duck, I'd be like, "Yeah, but you've go the gun right up against the screen...I'm at the other end of the room..."

Not that I was NEVER guilty of that myself, but it's only a challenge from a distance, and it's only fun if it's a challenge.

<font face="Trebuchet MS" size=3 color=660099>Hahaha Duck Hunt, that was an awesome game, that silly dog in it

And those other ones, Hogan's Alley and Gunsmoke, they ruled too.

Shame you can't play them on an emulator :(</font>

I would say SMW, but the fact that you could pick up a Goomba and throw it offends me to this day, so I'll say SMB2.
