Come on guys, it's not like it's going to be the most prestigious title in the world or anything. For what it is, the DIVAS championship, It looks fine.

I don't really see a problem with it.

If it was a men's belt, then it would be terrible, but it's fine for what it is.

......SMACKDOWN DOES NOT NEED ITS OWN GODDAMN WOMEN'S TITLE!!!!! THEY NEED TO PUT ALL OF THE GOOD FEMALE WRESTLERS ON RAW AND ALL OF THE GOOD CRUISERWEIGHTS ON SMACKDOWN IF THEY WANT SMACKDOWN TO HAVE A TITLE THAT NO ONE IS GOING TO GIVE A SHIT ABOUT!!!!!!!

.....AND WHERE'S THAT GOD DAMN YELLING FORUM!?!?!??!?!

I don't mind it. It's the Women's title so naturally it should probably look girly. The old one looked pretty bland.

***Natalya wins the Diva's Championship***

Nat: I will take this new title with pride and honor.

***She is handed the belt***

Nat: WTF is this!?!

Please, its not a WOMENS title its a DIVAS title and Natalya should be on Raw where an actual WOMENS belt is

So now we have 2 female divisions.
1. The Women's division: where the women are athletic and can wrestle a bit.
2. The Divas division: where all the divas are good looking, sluts and can run around in the ring.

Yea, excet I consider two of the best women wrestlers in the company to be on SD...move them over to Raw and then you're statement will be a little more true.

My quick, real critique of the belt...

It's not a bad belt, but it's not good either. The design of the plates are actually fairly nice, and it is ment for the women's division so yea, it's a bit girly.

However, if I can make any complaint, it would be that the belt itself is pink. Honestly, I don't like silver belts, and I sure don't like pink ones. You could argue with my point that it's a women's division, but I think the pink is a little too much personally. Also, as someone who use to make belt designs and cheap replicas in my freetime, I think belts that don't even fit the plates into the leather strap is cheap. It's like the belt was rushed and no real consideration was given into it. To me, the leather is a frame for the title, and not keeping something in that frame is poor craftmanship.

Much like the womens division itself then. And before two weeks ago, most of WWE.

Wha...?

It's like if WWE were marketing to 9 year old girls.

James Steele

WWE is marketing toward all 9 year olds. Rey Mysterio and Hornswoggle are having a Candy Land Match at The Great American Bash.

Rammsteinmad
07-06-2008, 02:39 AM
So is the "Divas Championship" a different title, or is it the old womens title under a different name?

Also, regardless of whether its for men or women, it's an awful belt, and further shows how WWE's titles are nowhere near as prestigious as they use to be. :nono:

Typical wrestling forum bitching

I've been baffled as to why they would add another women's title, but I honeastly think it's to counter TNA's Knockout division. I don't watch TNA but from I hear, the Knockout ladies are talented. So if they want to counter it, they need more than 2 Divas on Smackdown (Victoria and Natalya) who can actually wrestle. Although Michelle McCool isn't all that bad.

Speaking of Michelle, where did she come from? Was she a Diva Search sontestant? I'm on my phone so I can't look it up.

Honestly the belt doesn't lose any respect from me, why? because none of you clowns could possibly come up with a design that appeals to the ENITRE WWE Universe

Lux

Thus why the wrestling forum is just that a forum in which you will all bitch from one thing to the next without doing or changing anything

Mr. Nerfect
07-06-2008, 06:40 AM
I personally don't feel like the belt is that bad. My first reaction when seeing it was "Cool, that's different" before it was replaced with "Do I really want to win that?" I honestly do think it fits the division, though.

Victoria and Natalya are both very talented, and great female wrestlers. Michelle McCool is improving a lot, and could probably be called "good" in the ring, if not "great." Cherry would be a rank below them, about a C-level wrestler. Then you have Maria who is not good, but improving a fair bit, and quite sympathetic in the ring. You also have Kelly Kelly and Maryse, who are both showing a desire to get better and improve. Hopefully Alicia Fox shows herself to be talented, as well.

I like it. It screams "Talentless Hotass Title" and in no way will present itself as a wrestling belt. :y:

What happens when one of the talented ones holds it and treats it like the equivalent of the WWE championship?

Wait, what am I saying? They'll never hold it, lol.

Destor

Hope they do treat it as a "diva" championship and not a wrestling chmapionship. Just so maybe the Divas wont get the womens title any more. (Candice)

You guys act like the WWE markets toward you guys.

The belt is fine. When I saw it, I actually thought it looked cool. Sexist as it may sound, it's a WOMEN'S BELT, and it's OK to be flashy and girly and gaudy. It's a goddamn Diva Championship, for crying out loud. Let it go and complain about the non-spinning spinner belt.

Mr. Nerfect
07-06-2008, 11:12 PM
I understand where the WWE is coming from with this. A traditional belt would clash with te Women's Championship, and just blend right in. They needed to do something different with it, to make the belt appear like it is worth holding, and not just a Women's Championship-lite.

Making the belt silver was of course a possibility, but with that, you have it being looked at as "second rate," as silver is generally second to gold in rankings. Pink was probably chosen because it's not a traditional belt colour, and can help the title stand-out, as well as making it seem different, without necessarily making it look worse than the Women's Championship (a lot of you don't like it, but at least the belts are not interchangeable). It's a separate beast, so at least there won't be any confusion.

I'm sure the idea of a coloured strap went through their minds, too, but that would simply have mimicked the TNA Knockout Championship. If I were to guess, I think the minds behind it would have thought "White strap? Nah, we can't do that. Pink strap? Hmm, it'd look weird, but why not a modern-age pink title? Hey, that's pretty different!"

Mr. Nerfect
07-06-2008, 11:13 PM
Also, Candice Michelle should never be Women's Champion again. At least, not until she improves a whole lot more than what she already has.

Fox
07-06-2008, 11:16 PM
Hey, look. It's the Hello Kitty Championship belt.

TerranRich
07-06-2008, 11:39 PM
Noid has a good point. At least you can't confuse the Women's Title with the Divas Title (I guess the official name is plural). They're distinctively different belts, and with different looks come different connotations. The WC is more toned-down, although it still has that crazy wave/sawtooth pattern on it, so it connotates more of a wrestling background. The DC is more gaudy and Hello-Kittyish and as such brings with it an image of girls slapping each other around for a shot to hold the cute title.

Didn't the old women's title have a pink strap? I mean when Alundra Blaze and Bull Nakano were fighting for it in the early 90's?

Also, since this is a belt thread, has anyone heard the rumour and is there any truth that the World title be have been redesigned so part of it will spin in the near future? (source: tha O show)

Back on topic: that belt isn't too bad. I wouldn't want it, but then, I'm not a diva.

Just noticing - the nameplate is TINY compared to other nameplates, as though there's only room for the first name. Doesn't bode well for anyone who uses two names, such as Michelle McCool.

TerranRich
07-09-2008, 12:00 AM
All Divas will eventually be known by two names, as they always are.

Maria <s>Kanellis</s>, Candice <s>Michelle</s>, Natalya <s>Neidhart</s>, even Torrie <s>Wilson</s> in the end.

There's something scary about a Diva having a surname, I suppose.
