This is a list of movies I am really looking forward to seeing in the next few months, in order of release date.

Some of these are NYC release dates only.

Burn After Reading - September 12
Newest Coen Brothers movie, starring Brad Pitt, George Clooney, and John Malkovich.

Choke - September 26
Chuck Palahniuk book adaptation, starring Sam Rockwell.

Religulous - October 3
Bill Maher movie about religion.

Body of Lies - October 10
Ridley Scott movie about the CIA/terrorism, starring DiCaprio and Russell Crowe.

W. - October 17
Oliver Stone biopic on George Bush.

Synecdoche, New York - October 24
Charlie Kaufman's directorial debut. Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman. Should be incredible. Looking forward to this movie the most of any.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno - October 31
Kevin Smith movie starring Seth Rogan and Elizabeth Banks.

Role Models - November 14
David Wain's newest movie. Starring Paul Rudd and Sean William Scott as two energy drink reps who enroll in a mentoring program, and mentor McLovin.

Revolutionary Road - December 19
Sam Mendes movie (American Beauty) starring DiCaprio, Kate Winslet, and Kathy Bates.

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - December 25
Stars Brad Pitt as a guy who ages backwards.

Valkyrie - December 26
Tom Cruise as a guy trying to assassinate Hitler.

Gentlemen Broncos - TBA 2009
New movie from the dude that did Napoleon Dynamite.

These are some "maybes" that seem like they may be good, but not sure if I will definitely see them:

Blindness - September 12
From the guy who directed City of God. "An epidemic causes blindness in a modern city, resulting in the collapse of society."

Righteous Kill - September 12
Pacino and De Niro. Prob won't see it though cause I have a feeling it might be terrible.

Miracle at St. Anna - September 26
Spike Lee war movie.

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist - October 3
Another Michael Cera awkward dude movie. Maybe I will see it.

Doubt - October 10
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Meryl Streep. "Doubt centers on a nun who confronts a priest after suspecting him of abusing a black student."

Changeling - October 24
New Clint Eastwood directed movie about a kidnapping.

The Road - November 11
"Based on the 2006 novel The Road by Cormac McCarthy, and it stars Viggo Mortensen and Kodi Smit-McPhee as a father and his son in a post-apocalyptic wasteland."

Most of the stuff on Triple A's list are things I've been looking forward to.

I will also add:

Watchmen (I'm a comic book nerd)
RockNRolla (I love Guy Ritchie)
The Soloist (Because I'll watch anything Robert Downey Jr. does)
Appaloosa (Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris in a western, co-written by Ed Harris, who is amazing)
What Just Happened? (Robert De Niro in a movie about Hollywood)
The Brothers Bloom (Adrien Brody and Mark Ruffalo as con-men in a movie directed by the director of Brick)
Pride and Glory (Ed Norton and Colin Farrel as brother cops)
Milk (Sean Penn, Josh Brolin, and James Franco in a Gus Van Sant movie about the first openly gay politician)
Frost/Nixon (I normally hate Ron Howard movies, but this looks kinda cool to me. And I love Sam Rockwell)
The Spirit (I'm a comic book nerd and this looks over the top and fun)

New York gets all the awesome movies I wanna see. I wanted to see VCB, but I'm pretty sure it's not even playing in my state. Fuckin' Indiana.

I dunno how many of those will be up your alley, but if I get you interested in at least one of them, mission accomplished.

I got this card from my cable company that lets me go to the movies for free every Tuesday, and it is incredible. Any other day is $6 which is also not bad. I will put this to good use.

Funny People is going to be absurd. Take all the Apatow people and throw in Adam Sandler and Jason Schwartzman. That could be immense or it could be awful. I'm too nervous it could fail.

I see where you're coming from except one thing. Written and Directed by Judd Apatow. He produces or oversees a lot of projects, some good, some not so good. But the ones he puts his fingerprints on directly are some of the most brilliant films of recent years, let alone comedies.
