ok, so I got my new TV (52" lcd) and I have an old xbox 360, so I got the hdmi converter and an hdmi cable...

I plug it in, everything will be fine for a bit and then bang... a screen of snow....

I use the TV remote and re-select that input and it's fine.

I tried changing hdmi cables and the hdmi port on the TV and still the same issue...

should I just assume it's the hdmi converter and return/exchange it?

Can't you just get a specific HDTV component cable for xbox 360

Key word: OLD

I'm guessing he has the old version without the HDMI output.

If it were me, I would swap the converter only because the problem goes away when you change the input. It could also be the TV, but who knows.

If it were me, I would swap the converter. If it still happens, I'd assume it's the 360's fault.

bingo, I got this on ebay for like $100.00 it had the red-x and I sent it to microsoft to be fixed.

if i swap the converter and it doesn't work, I may just get a new one...

Just use the component cable that came with it. That or spend the extra cash on a new and improved 360.

yup. I don't rekon HDMI would look any better on the 360 anyway.
