Okay, don’t get me wrong, but I think Taker/Foley is kind of overrated. Outside of the two iconic bumps there really was nothing more to the match. I pick HBK/Taker as my personal favorite with Brock/Taker in close second and HHH/HBK & HHH/Batista tied for third. I didnt add the tag match on RAW in 98 because that one never did start (although they put it on the dvd) and Taker/Bossman because that one just sucked.

Your opinion?

Brock Lesnar VS Undertaker.

Though I haven't seen the Edge VS Undertaker one yet. :shifty:

Do you guys mean the orginal Bad Blood? Because there are 3 on that list...

Anywho, I'm a solid fan of Taker and Foley's. It entertains me, and still gives me goosebumps.

I'll agree, it is overrated, because of the amount they pump it and show clips of it etc. But still the best IMO

Brock/Taker by a mile.

I honestly think they got the first one perfect and no other match has lived up to it in terms of match quality. The ONLY thing off about it is the finish, but considering it's Kane's debut it's perfectly acceptable.

Also, the new Hell in a Cell is fucking retarded. The original at least looked brutal. This one looks too cartoonish.

I've been meaning to do this exact thread / poll (and other gimmick matches too) but looks like your efforts saved me the trouble.

Anywho, I'd go with Michaels v Taker.

I voted for Taker and Foley. Sorry. You say that there wasnt much other than the 2 iconic bumps. They werent standard bumps though. Possibly the two biggest bumps in WWE history. And the part that made the match, short as it was. He took both those bumps and got right back up again.

They changed it? How so? I haven't noticed

It's taller and I think it's slightly smaller around the ring. And they replaced the metal piping with flat supports.

Either HHH vs. HBK or Brock vs. Taker

Though the 6 man was so fun to watch...

The Best Hell in a Cell match hasn't taken place yet. It is Braden Walker v Braden Walker Jr.

In recent times, Edge vs. The Undertaker at this year's Summer Slam was pretty awesome IMO.

god if there was one match they created just for me, it was Taker/Foley. Short match, lot of things happening, lot of emotion and a nice build behind it. I love that match.

Michaels/Taker or Brock/Taker is probably the best match quality wise but Taker/Foley and the 6 man were just too much fun not to pick them. My no.1 would be Taker/Foley. The bumps, the crowd, the commentary (Jim Ross is unreal), Terry Funk, the camera shots. Was just unreal

Triple H vs. Cactus Jack holds a special place with me. I was still a mark when I watched it and wanted nothing more in my life than for Foley to win and take an easy ride with the WWF Title into WrestleMania 2000. With how shitty WrestleMania was, I still hold that Cactus should've won the belt that night at No Way Out and faced Rock and HHH in a triple threat. Fuck Big Show.

Armageddon '00.

Not for the match, but for The Rock's promo leading into it.

Yes. The original is always the best.

A few of them have different reasons as to why they're good.

Mankind/Taker will ALWAYS stand out for it's total WTF moments

Not to mention the original Hell in the Cell was 'Badd Blood' and the other Bad Blood Cell matches had one 'd'.

It's taller and I think it's slightly smaller around the ring. And they replaced the metal piping with flat supports.

Ah, now I understand Edge. In an interview recently he said he considered Taker and him doing something on top of the Cell but when he looked at it he said he realised that there was no way they'd live if they did a stunt from up there.

I'll pick one match in a bit, but so many Cell matches have been absolutely amazing. The exception being Taker/Bossman which was pretty terrible apart from the hanging.

Its like everything else in WWE these days. Like the entrance, the backstage areas and the ring/ringside. Its lost its 'gritty' look and now has a 'worked and polished to perfection' look.

Given, I don't mind the new entrance way, because the giant full length wall titan tron of doom is pretty cool, but everything else is a bit 'too' perfect

I'm honestly surprised at the lack of Edge/Taker love. I loved that match. Action pact, big spots, great storyline, crazy Edge. The Edge burning in hell thing was a bit much but I guess you kind of expect it in Taker matches. My overall favorite is still prolly Foley/Taker though.

In other words: it's lost its attitude. Just like everything else in the WWE: themes, intros, titantrons, characters/gimmicks, language, use of blood, and to an extent matches.
