I'm doing a radio show at school next semester on 90s music, and I'm looking for some ideas. My plan for the show is to pick two bands that had songs from the decade and to talk about the bands and play some sweet music from an awesome time. That's why I'm here enlisting your help.

I'd like to get some ideas for bands to profile and some suggestions of songs to play. I'd rather not play the hits, because people can listen to those more often. They don't have to be bands that were only popular in the 90s (one hit wonders). The only requirement is that they released something during that time. Also, the song had to have been released in the 90s. I'd like to stay within the decade if I can (since that's the premise of the show).

So if you have any suggestions, post away. Rep will certainly be given.

Thanks!

Sunny Day Real Estate - Diary (album)

Seminal second wave emo-rock album from 1994 that defined a sound and spawned countless imitators who would do far better commercially with it than Sunny Day ever did, which does not take away from its influence or importance in the slightest.

Song: "Seven"

Awesome! Thanks a lot. I have heard of them, and I remember this song, but I don't think I know much else by them. I will check them out and hopefully I'll be able to track down enough info and music about/from them to play them on the show. If I do, I'll definitely let you know (I'm telling the world about this show anyway).

I would like some Reputation.

As much as I love giving out rep for no real reason, Lux, in this case you gotta earn it.

That was not defined by the actual first post, my suggestion was that you give me reputation thus I posted (apart of the implications) thus earning said rep :p :D

...you got me there, sir. My only reason for not catching it is that it's 4AM (now 5), but that's no excuse. :nono:

Since you've now posted twice, and you have your rep, do you have a suggestion? :D

Talk about the greatest band nobody knows, For Squirrels. (well people on here might know them).

They had a decent hit in Mighty KC, but were cut short due to a fatal car accident that killed thier singler, bass player and manager. I love them though

New Orleans Sludge Metal would be cool to check out.

You can take your pick from Crowbar, Eyehategod, Acid Bath (some), Down, etc.

You can even check out some of the musicians from the area that were in other bands (Pepper Keenan being in Corrosion of Conformity, Phil Anselmo in Pantera)
