...that Matt Striker is an awesome commentator.

He's got nothing on Ted Striker.

Made a couple threads about this. Striker really appeals to the IWC.

He'd be better used as a manager.

But I do quite like him nevertheless.

Maybe if they let him heel it up, he'd be better.

I agree with both Noid and Carl.

You're the one that brought up Ted Striker...

Surely you can't be serious.

This. But we all know WWE hates managers and finds them useless, yet for some reason still allow guys like Jeff Hardy and Shelton Benjamin to cut promos.

Of course I'm serious, and Don't call me Shirley!

Striker is too brilliant to "heel it up". And I don't really recall him doing much when he was BDV's manager. This way, he's at least on the show every week, and his brilliance comes with.

Yeah, I can't say I'm too into the idea of Matt Striker as a manager. He'd be attached to someone crappy, and that'd just make me want to see the superior Striker get in the ring. Someone like Larry Sweeney makes a fantastic manager, but I like Striker as a commentator.

All I ask for is just ONE freakin' heel commentator in any freakin' nationally televised wrestling promotion anywhere in the damn world in 2008. ONE. That is all.

Is it really such a dead art?

No, they just pander to the retards who need to be told who to boo and cheer instead of letting them figure it out on their own.

"If Lawler started acting like a heel the current fans wouldn't know what to do and they'd stop buying merchandise. He needs to be face."

is that a serious quote?

ridiculous. yea, the heel commentator added soooo much to the entire show.

Jerry Lawler needs to be a heel commentator. It's the only reason he had any charm as a voice on commentary anyway. Now he's just an echo to whoever the play-by-play guy is. When you are a shadow to Michael Cole, you are in trouble.

John Bradshaw Layfield was great in the booth. Mick Foley wasn't a heel, but he empathised with them effectively. Tazz works as he is now, to be honest, but I'd like to see him take a little more of Foley's approach. When a heel does something sinister, he should point out the intelligence in it, and support the heel in being as cutthroat as needed. JR, of course provides the good guy counterpoint to that. Todd Grisham is fine as he is, I actually like him as a bit of a smart-ass, and I like Matt Striker (obviously). He should channel JBL a bit more, though. For example, Striker should hate Tommy Dreamer. Jerry Lawler should be a pure heel, and Michael Cole needs to lose the face bias. He should only whip it out to balance Lawler.
