Mega Drive

Streets of Rage, F1, NHLPA Hockey 93/NHL 94, Brian Lara Cricket, Sonic, Micro Machines, Deset/Jungle/Urban Strike, FIFA and Street Fighter 2. Back then, I would never have needed any other games ever again

I think of that as the golden age of gaming, you had the SNES and the Genesis (Mega Drive) so many amazing games for them.

Rez, Crazy Taxi 1 & 2, the 2k sports games, Space Channel 5, UFC, Definitive home version of Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo, Rival Schools 2, the only 2 good Sonic 3D games, MSR, Ferrari, Virtua Tennis 1&2, F335 Ferrari, Sports Jam, Street Fighter 3, Garu: Mark of the Wolves, Headhunter, Toy Commander, Cannon Spike, Dynamite Cop, The Last Blade 2, Ooga Booga, Giant Gram 2000, I-Spy, Shenmue 1 & 2, Heavy Metal Geomatrix, Jet Set Radio, Cosmic Smash, HOTD2, the best version of MvC2 (Trust me, play the PS2 or the XBox versions and play the DC version... Amazing....), Illbleed, Skies of Arcadia, Grandia 2, Virtual On 2, Chui Chu Rocket, Fire Pro D

That's just the commercial games, it was also the first console cracked wide open and so much homebrew has been released. Trust me, NesterDC SE is the greatest NES emulator on any platform and then you've got a load of existing and in development brand new games coming out as well.

Probably PS2. I liked the SNES and PS1 in their respective days, but the PS2's still the system I owned the most games for. The 360 might unseat it by the end of its run, though.

El Fangel

Il take your word for it, I only ever played a few games for it, but didnt like it too much.

NES, with the SNES coming in at a close second.

And no, I don't care to elaborate.

Virtual Tennis was the shiznit on Dreamcast. That and the 2K games and Tony Hawk when it was still cool. MvC2 I put many hours into as well.

Honestly, I just like my PC a lot more than any old school system even. I had a lot of great times with my NES, SNES, and N64... even with my PS2. But I can't say I've enjoyed a system and gotten as much out of any except with my PC.

If I want to go relive those older systems, I can do that just as easy on my PC.

PC games changed my life. I enjoyed console games, but I never owned one until I bought a used PS1, and then decided I should just buy a PS2.

Unless you count owning a Game Gear...but no. Doesn't count.

N64

Goldeneye, Mario Kart, Donkey Kong. That's all I played when I was young, took over like 5 years of my life.

The one system that stands out in my mind is the N64.

Yeah, it wasn't the most powerful and the cartridge thing was gay, but the sheer fun I had (alone or with friends) was with the N64. Goldeneye, No Mercy, and Mario Kart are the three games that stand out the most.

I think the PS2 is my favorite as its the only one I still have.

I have quite a few games I still play and love and the controller is the most comfortable IMO.

SNES is a hair away though.

PS3. Love the technology. Graphics, blu ray, its sexy look, controller, free online, just everything.

Dreamcast ruled, I wish I never traded it in. Crazy Taxi, Shenmue, Jet Set Radio, Sonic, and the best controller ever to come out.

NES. Because it was the first console I ever owned.

The fact its heavier then the Xbox have anything to do with it?

If I had to rank them:

1. SNES/PS2/360 3 way tie
2. DS
3. Gamecube
4. Nintendo 64/PC
5. Atari 2600

Those are all the systems I have ever owned. My brothers have a Wii, but technically it's not mine and I'd probably rank it last anyway. Sadly, never had a PSX or an NES.

The PSX got me into gaming, there are many notable games for it that were amazing, personally FF7 and FFT

Yeah, 2. Some games work better on one than the other.

Why would I care about the weight? It's not a PSP.

Obviously - systems like NES and Super NES don't even come close to what's out there today, but man......I loved some of those games.

-Blades of Steel for NES was still one of the best hockey video games that I have ever played.

-Super Street Fighter II and Mariokart for Super NES are still among the best games that I have ever played.

'Tis a fat fuck mind.

That's why this generation is so great. You have a BBW for the guys who want something thick and black, a mid-range white unit for those who don't mind it breaking down once a month, and a smaller, childish unit for those who prefer kids from Asia.

My favorite is still the N64. Ocarina of Time, Goldeneye, Super Mario 64, the AKI wrestling games, the first Turok, Cruisn USA, 1080, Wave Race... I had so many good times with that system.

Mine has got to be the Dreamcast, it had some really great games and its a shame that its lifespan was cut short. I really enjoyed Shenmue, the good 3D Sonic games, Crazy Taxi, the 2K sports games. I thought the fact that it had a 56K modem built in and was able to support online gaming out of the box was really cool.

Yeah, shame we got stuck with a 33.6k in the UK. Couldn't play NBA 2k1 very well :(.

Glad I got that 56k imported :D
