Can't be deader than Val Venis' career.

Better throw him back.

Can't be deader than Val Venis' career.

Val Venis probably sees more dollars than KK sees pounds. He can't be doing too badly. Unless he financially backed Ron Paul's campaign...

Xero

No no, you just have to wait it out. Pretty soon it'll start flailing around in the pail. We may get five, even six paragraphs!

None of my running jokes are funny. They're annoying. That's the point.

God Noid, don't you know ANYTHING about trolling!?

Mr. Nerfect
12-21-2008, 10:51 PM
Hmm, I guess they are sort of annoying. But they're annoying in the way the writers of the Scary Movie-spin-off franchises are annoying. I've never given them enough weight to truly be annoyed by them.

A little poignancy added to your recipe could make them more effective? Or maybe just some observed nuance?

Xero

I'm really going for "Conan O'Brien retarded". You know, shit that's unfunny when you first see it and once you've seen it for the 100th time you want to rip your hair out.

We're not quite there yet with it. Give it time.

Mr. Nerfect
12-21-2008, 10:58 PM
Conan O'Brien would probably technically measure as a genius, though, which contrasts to his antics. Conan also slips a lot of wit, far less cynicism and a fair bit of improv into his work. Your's is a lot more clunky, darker and without a goofy intelligent grin behind it all.

You're reminding me more of Jon Stewart pretentious unfunny.

lol, "genius". Yeah, it takes genius to write the same ten skits for fifteen years, okay...

I wonder how long this thread can go without answering BB's question.

Which reminds me of one time back in school when my teacher asked for an example of a rhetorical question.

I replied: "Why don't you shut the fuck up?"

He replied: "DENTENTION FOR A WEEK!"

To which I said: "You're not supposed to reply to a rhetorical question".

Look who broke first.

The thing about Conan is that he has more than fifteen year career behind him. If you're only taking his Late Night stuff, then no, it doesn't take genius to use the same bits with only slight variations, but it takes a whole lot of charm to make them work. A charm that you certainly don't have. Conan is also one of the best (I can't think of anyone better, at the moment) at reading an audienc, and establishing a rapport with them.

Proper nouns, KoOS.

If by "he," you meant the "other board," why assume that other board is a male?

Three paragraphs does not constitute a Noid Post, friend. You'll know a Noid Post when you see it. Also, you cracked first. But if you want me to lose any sort of Socratic edge -- fine. Go back and check it out.
