Slash. Really can't overemphasize how overrated Zakk Wylde is.

Yeah, why is it taking two "guitar gods" to play one Jimi Hendrix song? They are both overrated actually.

"Overrated" is overused don't you think? I think the praise they both receive is where they're at, IMO. Nothing too rousing about it all.

I like both. Wylde knows how to play a mean guitar, if you ever get the chance to listen to his "Pride and Glory" album.

Not really a fan of either tbh, but they are both talented I suppose.

Did you know that not long before the GNR breakup, they were toying with the idea of bringing in Zakk Wylde to be a second lead guitarist for the band?
I think it was during their lull period before the breakup, after Use Your Illusion.

Bigger fan of Robin Finck, tbh.

Yeah it was after Izzy quit and before they hired Gilby I think.

Overused or not, I can think of few artists it would be more apt to hang it on appropriately. The problem isn't so much that the word is inaccurate, but the extreme level of fanaticism with which praise is laid on the heads of guys like Slash and Wylde.

Also, anyone else find it funny that after bashing Hendrix for simply having better toys, Wylde so frequently emulates him?

^

That always amused me, especially during his solo break at Ozzfest one year, complete with picking with his teeth, playing guitar behind his head, etc.

Yeah, it cracks me up sometimes. I see videos of him where I can only think "how bad does he want to be Hendrix?"
