Two totally different players but Michael had more ways to disrupt your defense I think.

well,l my vote goes to Bird, dunno why but he done great on a team of average-above average players. Jordan, you have to admit, did have a decent backup crew with the likes of Rodman and Pippen and various others, but yeah.

Are we talking about 1 on 1 or just who was better?

If this is 1 on 1. Jordan by a long shot.

I love Bird. He's easily one of my top 3 favorite players of all time behind Reggie Miller and Danny Granger, but i could name atleast 20 players who would dust him one vs one.

I'd say Jordan just because while a lot of the debate could go either way, Jordan was by far the better defender.

Larry Bird, because he knew how to pass.

Magic.

Exactly, because we (Lansing/E. Lansing, MI) GAVE the nation and the world, the FIRST glimpse of not only the rivalry between Bird & Jordan in the NBA but also between Bird & Magic, who's rivalry started the '79 NCAA Championship game between the Indiana State Sycamores and the Michigan State Spartans, and would continue well into their NBA careers.

P.S.-If you've been living under a rock or just don't watch college hoops the '79 title game is widely known as the one that put college basketball on the map.

Jordan is obviously Jordan. He's THE man.

But I am from Boston, and I love Bird.

I dunno

I love Larry Legend, but Jordan hands down. As a scorer it's obvious, he was a much better defender and a better passer than what he's given credit for.
