Just started playing Resident Evil 0 again ready for when Resi 5 comes out on Friday. I've only played a bit of it in the past so I guess it's not really going back to it but I'm enjoying it so far, Resi does make me wonder though, why did no one in Umbrella turn around and think "You know what, maybe making a giant mutated Scorpion/Spider/Shark" isn't really that good an idea.

I've been playing HCTP a bunch recently too. It's still teh goods on my list of the best SmackDown! Games. I'd probably rate it 3rd, after SvR '06 (2nd), and this year's SvR '09 (1st, OBV.!, if you couldn't have guessed.)

I've been going through Super Mario World the past couple of days, trying to go through and 100% it. After 15 years or so of playing, I just now found out that when a level's dot is blinking, it means there are 2 exits. I was always stuck guessing which ones had it. :o

Also been doing Ken Griffey Jr's MLB.

Fire Pro Wrestling Returns and Resident Evil 4.

Here Comes the Pain was the pinnacle of the Smackdown series IMHO. You had Bischoff playable, and nothing beats picking Nash & Jackknifing somebody off the roof of a building, onto the hood of a moving car.

A friend of mine just got a Retro system that can play SNES & NES games, so I've been playing Illusion of Gaia & Wanders from Ys a lot.

I've been on a Tony Hawk kick lately (the first one). I've also been playing Madden 2005 and WWF No Mercy a lot.

And I always go back to Legacy of the Wizard for NES. What a great game.

That puzzle in the mansion in Zero where you had to press the animal statues in order of the story pissed me off. I swore I was doing it right. I had to go to Blockbuster and read the strategy guide.

Wrestlemania 19 and the Resident Evil games on Gamecube.

I would say Day of Reckoning but that game really sucks ass and I tottally regret buying it.

DoR is gold. What didn't you like that WM19 did better? The only thing that comes to mind for me was the entrances. WM19 had better cameras and let you time pyro and titan tron vids better.

I always wanted to play Majoras mask, but never did. maybe because Ocarina is so epic that nothing would beat it. I should buy it on the cheap now.

DoR's season mode wasn't anything special, but WM19 had the worst "season mode" Ive ever seen in any video game.

LOL, wasn't WM19 the one where you basically just had brawls in the various "arenas" like that mall?

Funky Fly
03-12-2009, 05:18 PM
yes. It was god awful, but it was the only way to make your CAWs not be completely worthless. I actually finished it to get McMahon as a playable character. Then I found out you could just spam certain levels over and over to make more cash than you could by going through the whole thing.

I just like the roster its pretty good. I have not Played DoR 2 yet how is it?

Funky Fly

Like DoR1, but better. 3 things about it that annoy the piss out of me though:

1. There is now a stamina meter that cripples match pacing if you're not careful.

2. CAW has been downgraded, mostly. Load times take forever, less attire options, face morphing isn't as good and moves have skill restrictions on them.

3. The game has freezing issues, especially in my favourite match type: Elimination-style Fatal 4 Way Last Man Standing matches. :(

On the plus side, entrances, graphics and AI are improved. There are waaaay more moves with more variety. Certain moves seem to have lost certain properties tho (Lionsault no longer acts as a pin move on a downed opponent, etc). Storyline is better, but not by much.

And being able to choose your counter style. This was a big deal for me.

I played HCTP when I still had PS2 (sold it the other day) and was enjoying it. One thing I loved to do was create CAWS and do a whole season with them

SYU was pretty fun to pop in as well. If you got it, play it. It gets kind of boring after about 10 mintues though.

Stlll got an N64 and played No Mercy the other day. Still, great game, but its old now. Can't get into it like I used to. If I wait another year and then play it again I'll probably do another hardcore royal rumble that will last 2 hours

When I lived with a buddy, we had a setup that had the N64 in the bathroom. Lots of No Mercy got played while taking care of business.
